80072EFE error on Windows Vista

ILI-BIG

I m getting 80072EFE error when checking for updates. A few months ago, i was able to fix this problem with installing SHA-2 code signing, platform, ie-9 updates and patching wuaueng.dll as vista + server 2008. But now, I installed fresh vista on laptop and these methods aren't working. How to fix Automatic updates?

Try using Legacy Update.

Why are you still trying to run and update Vista? I hope this is just a nostalgia machine, not a daily driver.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

More people than you think still use Windows XP, Vista, and 7. My local grocery store JUST upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows XP Professional on an old E-Machines tower. They used the XP computer as the POS machine 😭

I love making PCPartPicker lists.

Becase there are cool features in vista that windows 7 doesn't have.

Also it isn't main OS.

Do you really need those automatic updates? I would say that one of the main advantages of using old Windows is not having automatic updates.

You can find Vista updates till 2017 here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/181756-windows-vista-update-repository-until-april-2017/

and Server 2008 updates here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/176686-server-2008-updates-on-windows-vista/?do=findComment&comment=1139171

Aren't new updates restricted by an ESU (paid update program) license? I know that they are for Windows 7, so they may well also be for Vista
