Hi,

Im about to upgrade my home server from an i7 2600 (ddr3) to a i7 5820K (x99s sli plus from msi) to have a more stable experience in jellyfin and to use it for more things.

I have the mobo/cpu/cooler which i got as a combo (checked that everything worked before picking it) and i got a PSU (600W bequite system power)  and some RAM (Gskill 2x8GB 3000MHz DDR4) second hand.

I was about to buy a a380/a580 ( just to handle the encode/decode for jellyfin and maybe some "AI" acceleration in nextcloud) but decided to test everything with my old gt 630.

The system did not boot.

*Panic*

I tried my main PSU (RMe 750W) and my RX 6900XT but nothing, its not even posting. So i swapped my ram from my main PC (Ripjaws gskill 3200MHz DDR4) to try them on the "server" and the other ones in my computer. Both post, and my PC even booted.

i cant just swap the RAM kits, since on my PC i have 32GB (since im compiling code and doing some 3D modeling/casual gaming) and the other kit is 16GB. Any idea why this happens? The kit works with my PC but not my "server".

Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

SERVER : i7 2600 / 12GB RAM / 8TB
