there's a reason there's only really 3 OS's to chose from on desktops. i also highly doubt that anyone in the LTT team know enough to write an entire OS, or even a Distro for Linux

@LinusTech Agree!!

Even though it won't be easy I would seriously consider signing up for a float plane exclusive or something like that1 Because this would be so cool

@Ali Khalid Why don't you write a "OS" from scratch and see what impossible task you just gave.
If you want to do some more realistic 'fun' challenges find something possible.

For example just see how long it takes to make a stable good looking video service (floatplane)
I'm pretty sure development has been going on for over a year with multiple people.

Quote or mention me if not feel ignored

Make an OS?

Does the OP know how much time that'd take plus if they want to outperform Linux they'll have to get rights to implement DirectX 11-12, which MS isn't just going to give out if at all.

I'd love to see an OS like this, Enthusiast focused - high performance - 100 % full control

When MS would release this, ask € 100's a year for home users honestly I'd buy!

Just leaving us here with the plebanian verison of Windows 10 isn't nice, I think a load of power users agree here.

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?

He should also design a new CPU and GPU to go with it focusing on gaming performance.  Just gotta beat a 8700k + 1080 Ti combo by 10% or so.  That can be an extra 3 episodes

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

2 episodes max i think. i mean, everybody can just go and design a wafer right? no big deal.

Maybe make it into some kind of APU with a cooling solution small enough to fit it in a tablet, now that might take 3 vids :P

You know what, along with that also design a new motherboard standard, competing with ATX, and getting everyone to replace ATX in 2 episodes.

Modify an OS... He can't even make a decent heatsink.

It took him 2 episodes to end up with a heatsink that looked like an ogre ate some metal and pooped it out...

Yeah... Being able to make your own sketchy heatsink doesn't mean you'll be able to program a whole OS, let alone one that could out-perform Linux...

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:
