Show off your old and retro computer parts

So my grandpa has an old CF-41 laptop from 1995 I think, and recently we found out that ancient tech like that is fairly valuable nowdays. What do you guys think?

Find model number and actual year it was made. Though it looks like early-90s machine, so you'd have to wait another 20 years before it gains any real value. Plus, make sure it works.

Not that old, but still worthy of my growing "GPUs through the ages" collection.  

 

Radeon HD 3850. Came with a dual-Xeon workstation I just picked up yesterday. (needs to be cleaned big time, lol)

Picked up these two beaut's today for $5 each. Compaq LTE 5000 and a 5100, circa 1989 and 1990, I believe mid-90's. One or both supposedly work. Haven't tried yet...

And.... they both work!!!  The 5000 has a cracked screen, but I knew that when I bought it. The 5100 fired up right into Windows 98! And it works quite well. lol. 

 

Have some possible "plans" for the one with the broken screen.

Well with just windows 98 on the 1.35GB drive, "only" 500mb is free.

In digging around to try and find the retail price of these things, I saw some similar models went for upwards of over $6000 at the time. Unreal.

I'd love to try and find how much my laptop went for when it was new (ProSignia 165 w/ 400MHz PII, 10GB? HDD and 64MB of RAM are the notable things). If I had to guess I'd say a good $3,500?

 

So I mean if you have any sites in mind that could shed some light in that, lemmeknoman.

I mean that Quadro is in need of repair, which is why I bought the 7950 GX2 in the first place The Quadro has like a fuckton of missing surface-mount caps behind the GPU package, the bridge package thing, you name it. It's quite sad tbh that it's missing that much, it's like a child had dragged a screwdriver over the top of it.

lol My Compaq armada 4131T has a 1.4gb drive with windows 95 on it. Need to grab a bigger one so I can fit more game son it

Mine retailed for around $3500 at the time.

So it says old computer parts, so I figured "Hey, old Apple computers count!" So here's my Apple IIGS, which I have a 5.25" floppy drive for as well, but can't be bothered to find.  

I suppose I should give some backstory to it too. I was playing a mobile game called Ingress (Go Enlightened) with my friend when we decided to stop into an antique store and look around. We were far from home since there was a physical event that we attended called First Saturday, but we could still lug stuff around with us. Anyways, we look around the store, find a few neat things, like film cameras and typewriters and stuff, but then we see something behind a rope: 2 Apple IIs, 2 Apple monitors of different sizes, and 2 floppy drives, one 3.5, one 5.25. The room they were in was dim, but we figured we'd ask.   

We go upstairs (the stuff was in the basement) and ask the dude, which was an old man. He said "50 bucks and you can take the lot." It was recently my birthday, so I had cash on hand. I paid for the stuff and my friend sent me 25 bucks on Google Wallet or something. We take it to the meeting place for the event and everyone was amused that we bought the stuff. We get to my friend's house and we start testing what we could. One of the monitors ended up not working, so I took the 5.25" drive and the Woz edition and he took the monitor (which was color), the 3.5" drive, and the other Apple II.  

  

I don't regret it.

I love the old apple logos. My Macintosh SE has the same logo and similar backstory actually. Found it in an antique/second hand shop and nobody really cared about it. Asked for the price and got it for a steal.
