i love colors, always looking for biostar mbs, my actual computer is an am2+ biostar navy mb with orange slots, stuck 2 orange geil memory sticks in it.

still, my favorite motherboard of all times was a biostar 754 socket, green pcb with green slots, oh boy, the memories behind that one...

This is a pic of the three LanParty variants for Socket A.

From left to right is the DFI LanParty KT400A, LanParty NF2 Ultra A and the LanParty NF2 Ultra B.

Sometimes it's difficult to tell them apart if not famliar with each, the pic shows these differences and it's not hard to tell which is which once you know the differences.

Look closely and you'll see them.

I've seen Ultra A's being described as Ultra B's on Ebay several times and that's not accurate, plus the Ultra B is the board that's known as the top board for that socket once modded. Ultra A's are good but will not run nearly as well as an Ultra B is capable of.

An Ultra B itself will not set records in stock form but no other runs like an Ultra B once it's modified.

All three boards shown are unmodified (Stock) making the Ultra B I have one of the very last in stock form you'll ever see.

No, I have no plans to mod it either - It's a show piece like the other two.

That definitely wouldn't be my first choice, the A8's integrated GPU is probably better than the Nvidia card anyway.

HD 8570D isn't too bad, that was the same iGPU that shipped in my A6-5400K from what I recall. I'd choose that over a 256MB GT 310 any day though, purely because you can allocate more VRAM.

Hi This is my first post here not sure if it fits retro kit (the case is ) but is also a build...

This is a google album with a retro fit of a fairly retro system. It's my 2nd build ever, last one was in the athlon 2600 days -- so go easy !

https://photos.app.goo.gl/izcNajbWbiBTHQES7

Attached is a teaser image. The pics aren't all that good actually :/

kit list is:

Asus geforce dual 1060

ASUS P7P55D SOCKET 1156

i5 750

Crucial DDR3 12G

Corsair 550W PSU

A kingston 60G SSD.

corsair aio cooler 2x120mm rad.

For me it wasn't about getting a balling rig, as much as repurposing the case. This is way better over the i3 and asus turks graphics card I got for free.

I have a newer CPU (i7 something) in the post.

20200209_100308.jpg

PS - It's running Ubuntu and minecraft so it's actually overkill for this used case use case :D

It was also a way to get my Daughter into computer building rather than just playing. She helped with a bunch of the smaller tasks (memory, putting in the standoffs - taping up the huge cuts I made in the case. I wanted to add a big acrylic sheet to the side to give an inside view. I'm not so sure now as I actually like the monolithic look of this case. and the only rgb is on the corsair.

If the new CPU doesn't need much cooling I might sell the AiO on and just get a conventional nice noctua or something. I couldn't get this i5 to get any hotter than 41C with a stress test. So i'm not sure if the water cooling is overkill. It's the most expensive bit of the build. I was going to get a custom water cooling kit dead cheap (linus' banggood water cooling video) but I didn't fancy all the fiddling about.

Just because you're 12, doesn't mean you can't have old computer parts. I have some Core 2 Duo, and a Nvidia 8800 GTS or something like that.

I have an old Amd e350 cpu with a Radeon HD 6320 gpu.

I had the original neon green cybiko that had communication text between two cybikos within 200 feet. Used them in school with a friend circa 2001 right before 911..  Was texting in class a half a decade before everyone else. lol.

I'm sure a few will know what this is, but most prob won't. This is the first computer I ever got to play with. I was 5 or 6 years old when my mom brought it home. It's came with 80kb of ram! And the data drives used a cassette. Very cool little computer. This has been the one computer I really wanted to complete my collection (as if I could ever call it complete.)
