Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Is this a sign of what skyactiv-X will be like?

Lol I’m kidding.

dont they have 2.0L engines making like way too much power in those things? No wonder they don’t last...

Yes, boosted to 600hp but its a 10 year old AER design

That's all dependent on how good you are at fabricating though. How well you designed it.

If anything, if I can't line it up well enough, I'll just zip tie it super tight onto it. Should theoretically work as well as bolting it on.

Here’s the full visible extent of the damage to my dad’s car

Radiator core support is only $100 online for this car? Wut (its plastic)

may have a minor frame alignment issue though based on the panel gap of the fender on the opposite side of the car

What I wanna know is why the radiator core support is plastic. I know it's probably to save costs, but in a crash that's gonna lead to more damage i think.

I would just fabricate a removable front core support so I can easily move the engine in & out plus accessing the front accessories & turbo bits would be easy. I have a guy here in Florida that can help me with the more complex tubing bends (He has that car with the tube chassis I posted a picture of).

I wanted to do something similar. Along with a clamshell front end.

The guys seems to do good work.

They are still announcing recalls for some stuff. Wouldn't surprise me if there were still a lot of them out there.

From what I heard they are still putting them in some new cars but they have to recall them after a certain amount of years.

Its retarded.

Looks like a quadruple heart attack right there. But still looks really good. Only burgers I try are the chain ones, not the independent ones, but In-N-Out burgers are pretty damn good. Still wanna try an independent burger shop.

They only offered 1.8’s here in the US since the 1994 model.

The NC’s and ND’s only come with the 2.0L motors here.

Mazda knows the people in the US with the cheap gas rather just have the bigger motor anyway I guess lol

engine from japan + ecu from japan (a bit more power, all at the top tho... redline moves to 7500 as well instead of 7k), front sway bar from flyin miata, and some reinforcement blocks from it from racing beat to keep it from breaking the sway bar mounts.

Not really much else though... Pretty standard car. Needs some suspension work, it's quite old.

no.

It's probably not as bad as it looks as you say. I was told by the shop that did the work on my miata Lafayette parish is the most expensive place in the entire continental 48 states in the US for car repairs. so I expect it to cost at minimum double that $3800ish figure you said

and also as a result, the most expensive place to insure a car. (hence why my miata is $130 a month.. now NB miatas are very cheap cars to insure, so it helps. but something like the corolla i used to have would of been closer to $200 lol)

at least gas is cheap here...

~800 bumper primed

~450 grille assembly

~200 ebay

~800 hood

Probably a few more things, like the little grill

their estimate isn't too far off if they're buying new parts.
