Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

It's a 2-stroke moped. Similar to something like this.

Mo = Motor.

Ped = Pedal.

It's dark so I can't take a good pic of it but My parents bought me a cover that I had wanted for my Miata that covers just the soft-top and window area on my Miata. It's super nice and has felt on the areas where it touches the paint to keep it from scratching. It also extends into the trunk and you close it into the trunk so it can't fly away (not that it would, it's quite heavy) and so no one can steal it. And you can quickly throw it on the car in about 1 minute! (It also hooks over the side mirrors on the sides with Velcro straps)

Will keep my soft top from fading and keep the interior protected more too, especially in the long hours it's parked outside while I'm in school or doing other things.

Ill L get a pic of it tomorrow. I love it!

The only reason I didn't buy it myself is because it was $180 shipped from Europe! :o . But luckily I didn't even have to ask them for it, they remembered from a few months ago from when I first got the car :D

Yeah same here! For that first few hundred miles the engine just runs that little bit smoother and nicer :)

speaking of of oil changes, is O'reilly brand full synthetic and Microguard filters any good? They are having a special right now where you can get 5qts of it and a filter for $25 and get a $10 gift card in the mail. Or should I just stick with my typical Mobil 1 and wix filter change?

That hat said its been about 4K miles since I put the new headgasket in and it's holding up well. Just was starting to think about oil today because 5k is coming up.

nah, its more like a rug for your dash cover. i mean you can remove it when you want to. every single car in my house has one. it's great if you don't want cracks on your dash from sun damage.

Ah. The only problems we've had here as far as sun damage goes is the exterior plastics fading and the tops of steering wheels peeling. The dashboard is usually fine surprisingly.

And I say that from my dads old 250K mile G35 which spent most of its time out in the sun.

I have seen cracked dashes though so it does indeed happen. I just don't know how and it hasn't happened to us yet (and hopefully never does)

I may have to get one if I end up buying that e39 (still talking with the owner) as I have heard that light colored interiors crack easier from sun damage.

It's not supposed To go down in front of the dash, just sit on top...?

It can work if it doesn't cover much of the dash. The passenger airbag is fairly large on the E39.

the most i have tried was aprox. 40 times (old beat to shit 125cc 4 stroke dirtbike wich had a radiator located behind the front wheel without anything protecting it)

i dont know how many times the last owner had done this but probably quite a lot.... i ended up replacing it with a rad of of a yamaha 250 quad and using the radiator shield/cover from that.
