Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I couldn't remove the plastic cover in ny car even if I wanted to.  As it also doubles as the air box.

Id need to make/purchase some intake for it.

Those things are no slouch. On the Cayuga road course it took all I had in my modded Civic SiR to keep up with a guy in one of these in front of me. I could catch him in the twisties, but he'd just pull away on the straights. :P

I love fast powerboats and 1320 just uploaded this. :D

This morning 2nd gear wasn't nice to me at all.

kept crunching it. Started double clutching between first and second and it helped some.

Guess  it's time for that Motorcraft fluid and the master and slave. Either could solve the problem, I'm probably gonna do both.

It's funny, my trans shifts better/smoother when it's cold and gets worse as it warms up.

Yet other cars seem to crunch more when they're cold and smooth out when they warm up. :P

Let me tell all of you about a little (large) car made be a little (large) company in Japan (well, Australian branch anyway), which goes by the name, of Mitsubishi.
Here down in the ass**** of the world (Australia and New Zealand), we were given a gift. A gift that could have been glorious, had good old Mitsi not plastered a big, fat F*** Y** on their own foreheads. This little (large) car's name is the 380. Now, I'm sure a large portion of you guys (and girls) have heard of the tire-burning V8's we live and love down here. The Holden Commodore and the Ford Falcon. This car, this 380, was built to contend with these GIANTS. And it would have done exactly that, had they not made the thing a F***ING FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE. Okay, okay, let's just look past that. Just forget and imagine that it was built with the power going to the right set of wheels. Now, the power band on this engine looks like scale of hotness of a Russian chick as she ages; it falls hard as you go up. But, my god, the low-end torque this thing shoves up your ass is nothing less than euphoric. This torque is delivered by a 3.8L 24 valve V6 hunk of aluminium. Well okay, we can fix that top-end with a little bit of boost, right? WRONG! This engine is built like a tank, but the rods are as skinny as an Ethiopian girl on a diet. So, we watched as the 380, which could have stood at that summit on which the Ford and the Holden stand on, dies within 3 years.
I'm an owner of a 380, this was just a rant on the thought-process (or lack thereof) of the people who brought this car into existence.
Also, the front of it is as ugly as sin.

It's really annoying. Why can't it just be smooth all the time?! Lol

whats especially aggravating is I had just changed the trans fluid with redline fluids too :/ money basically wasted, though it only holds 2 quarts so it wasn't much.

The motorcraft fluid is kinda pricy though. Guess because OEM ford.

This problem is unique to the 6 speed Miata though. of course the 5 speed is "perfect" :/

I also must add that my gearbox doesn't do that when shifting at high rpm. Which is interesting.

My gearbox, and pretty much the entire car is of the works better cold variant.

Maybe it suffers from some heatsoak too. Or the intake air preheating flap is forever stuck on hot :P
