A gaming chair that maybe we can afford? Thanks Corsair!

Office chair > Gaming chair any day

Ass sweat is none issue for me (as long as it isn't leather), but doesn't the mesh stretch over time? Can't it be ripped easily. Sometimes I like to sit with my under my ass (I know its not ergo to do... but I like to change positions for a short moment)... won't the mesh be uncomfortable under such case?

I haven't seen any kind of streatch on mine, and as far as tears I'm gonna guess that it depends on quality. I have a cat that lives in my room, and she hasn't torn it yet.

I spent $400 on my DxRacer chair because fuck it. It looks awesome and is super comfortable.

It cheapens an otherwise decently set up room.  Also it might just be the angle of the picture, but it looks like a few of the panels in your wall art are crooked.

If you follow JayzTwoCents, that's the chair he switched to when he got his new office space; he mentions it in his review of their desk at about 6:15, if you're curious.

Agree with Jay 100% here.  Also a car guy, and if I'm not sitting in something that moves, I'll take a quality mesh office chair in a heartbeat.

Thanks @TimeOmnivore, I think I finally found my new chair.

Strangely, it says "pre-order" on their website... It's not out?!

https://www.autonomous.ai/office-chair

Or am I looking at the wrong thing.

Wonder if they ship to Canada as well.

Edit: Oh they do! Wonderful! Only  $406.64 for shipping and handling... lovely. :(

What's with all these "racing" chairs? Why not just get a proper desk chair, something that was designed for sitting at a desk? You don't need the headrest, since you're unlikely to get whiplash at a desk, same goes for all the side bolstering, you won't slip out of your seat under hard cornering.

This things are just a bit ridiculous.

People say this all the time... the difference look past "gaming" in these names. The chair themslves are very high quality, whether it be DXRacer, Maxnomic ect. There are other brands that are cheaper as well lik GT Omega Racing or Tesorro and ya, you're spending $200-$300 on a chair but you're ass is sitting on it the entire time you use your PC. I'd rather it not be some shit chair that'll fall apart in 6-12 months.

I think spending that much on a chair is absurd plus they're ugly as hell, "gamer cheese". Just my opinion.

I've been standing the past few months and its ok. All I've done lately is bench though.

I've owned 2 $200 office chairs. After 4-6 months both of them started to squeak and the padding got flat. I've not "owned" a gamer chair yet but these chairs force you to sit in them in proper means and a friend of mine owns a maxnomic. The one chair I've sat in that doesn't give me back pain after an 2 hours of sitting in it.

So unless you are hyper fapping into the n'th dimension, you won't need those things on a desktop chair. Instead, you frack up your shoulders.

Genuinely asking, as I'd like to read up on it - Do you have a source on the wings damaging/hurting the shoulders?

Amazing chair (fully loaded)

111.jpg.703e32a1cd97fe82c30a70b0eed8fa2d.jpg

And on that note: there's no such thing as a 'gaming chair'. If you're sitting most of the day - do your back a favor because nothing is worse than having lower back pain by the time you're in your early-mid 20's. Check out stuff from Herman Miller and Steelcase. A quality chair will last you a long time (you'll save money in the long run).

I recently purchased an aeron (2016 version) and I couldn't be happier.

Some recommendations

HM - Embody (most expensive option)
HM - Aeron
HM - Mirra 2 (cheaper option)

Steelcase - Leap
Steelcase - Think

All Herman Miller products come with a 12 year warranty btw. Not too sure about steelcase though. Another thing to note: mesh chairs will keep you cooler during the hot summer months.

There is a lot of dislike for gaming chairs, personally I understand all of it! They are dumb but they aren't bad. Are there cheaper chairs, yes. Are there better ergonomic chairs? Yes. Does anyone make anything in between, No...

I have a Dxracer, but not one of the Formula ones, i think it was a King or Wide series.

My friend has a Formula chair. The difference in quality, the size was incredible and about every aspect of my chair (wide series) was better and it was only a little bit more money.

So i would definitely agree that some of the chairs are expensive garbage, but some aren't too bad and better than most of the competition.

I literally would just go out and buy a nice office chair.

Imo "gaming chairs" are a gimmick.

I make bad life decisions.

If you're sitting up at your desk an office chair is fine.

I use my "gaming" chair as an all around entertainment/media chair meaning I will go from sitting straight up while at the keyboard to leaning back a bit while gaming with a controller to reclining while watching TV/movies and even napping in it.

These "gaming" chairs are a jack of all trades master of none type of chair that fills the gap between an office chair and a recliner.

An office chair is good while at your desk but sucks if you want to lean back and relax.

A recliner is great for relaxing in but sucks for sitting at a desk.
