I currently have a Ubiquiti U6-LR broadcasting in my home. I also have a U6-Lite in a wooden barn.

My question is, I have a metal shack that I would like wifi in, but the metal siding prevents wifi from getting in. Is there a Ubiquiti receiver that I can just add to the outside, and then plug it into an U6-Lite on the inside? Just 1 item, and not 2 are needed, so the Locos sound like a good option, but I don't want to use 2 if I don't have to.

Any thoughts?

Had a similar situation with a client before. In their situation I ended up needing to install a line array from the main house to the shack/shed. Costly, but it worked. Couple years later I went back to do some more work for him, and it turns out he never did use the Wi-Fi in there. Spent all that money just so he could...I dunno, have the option, I guess? Maybe ask yourself if you really need Wi-Fi out in this shack.

Run an Ethernet cable…. If you can get an Ethernet cable to the metal shed, you can install an AP inside without issue. Always run wires whenever possible.

Yup, run a wire. Direct burial CAT6 (CAT5e could work depending on distance, but now-a-days, CAT6 is kind of the minimum you should be running). Trench it, you only need to go down maybe 6" or so..could even get away with less depending on your soil/situation. How far is it from the closest ethernet connection?

THIS!!!   If you can I would bury conduit and run the cable through it, its just an additional bit of protection and if something happens you can pull a new cable. But atleast in the US you can rent a trenching machine pretty cheaply

Or better yet, for electrical isolation purposes, fiber!
