What was your first computer?

xserd

My first computer was a IBM PS/2 with a BLAZING fast 16 MHz 386, 20 MB HDD and 2 MB of ram! But my first build was an AMD Athlon K-7 650 MHz with a 10gb(i think) HDD and i believe 2 512mb sticks of ram. I believe my GPU was a Diamond card at the time(though i dont remember much about it).

Secondhand AMD Athlon 6000+ (wanted a 1st gen Phenom but it was way too pricey) and the Radeon HD 4850.

Served me well, though the Athlon was a bit of a bottleneck. Could handle Crysis on med-high settings pretty well though.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

My first CPU was the venerable 6502 galloping along at a stupendous 2Mhz and my first GPU was VIDPROC, a custom-made Uncommitted Logic Array (ULA) made by VLSI. They were fitted into my BBC Model B microcomputer.

Pentium III (600MHz Single-core)

Intel GMA I think they called it that back then.

All housed in one nice vintage OmniBook XE2, first laptop I could call my own .. until it broke after 4 months due to extreme overheating issues haha

First CPU was a first gen Intel Core i3-550 from way back. First GPU was an MSI Nvidia GeForce GT 710 1GB model, crappy by today's standards. :D

Way back haha .. well depends on how you look at it :D

First new laptop I bought was close to that, but worse Medion MD 98580, 390M i3 & GT540M 1GB

Did the job fine for one year, before I killed it with heat once again..

Laptops I use seem to have one theme in common, me using them 12+ hours a day ends up frying something and taking them down

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?

My very first CPU was a 10mhz turbo mode intel. The first machine I ever used was 5mhz one I don't even remember the name of lol.

Now my first GPU and CPU combo was an old intel 266 with a Voodoo card... way back in 1997-1998.

The first CPU and GPU I owned in a computer I bought myself was a PowerPC G3/233 augmented by I think and ATI Rage 128.

Only got rid of it this year.

The first computer my brother and I acquired was a Sinclair 48k Spectrum, so, whatever was in that.
