A NES in 1989 200 dollars. But first pc 1995 I am guessing but it was a packard bell 1000-1300 dollars my parents got it for school work. But it was used way more for duke 3d, doom, quake, ultimate domain, and tomb raider. I also have many fond memories of DOS.

~$800

Built it when I was about 12, and it wasn't bad. Of course now I'm much older and the only thing that probably currently is still being used is the HDD

£550 or so for a Dell XPS 420 from the dell outlet store, Q6600 2.4GHz quad and a nVidia 8800GT, which got upgraded to a GTX 550, shame it died last year, will be missed. If you're building yourself, you don't really need to spend more than about £1000 for a 1080p gaming desktop to be able to play most things nowadays.

My first build was around $500. It had an AMD FX 6300 with a 7850. The case and psu were all generic brands.

500$?

Mine was 650$ and had fx-6300 and 7850. Of course I had a phantom 410, but still...

Hey, I plan on buying my first Gaming PC and, I want something good, if not I may aswell just get a PS4.

I want to game in 1440p and have a system that lasts me a long time (4 maybe 5 years hopefuly).

So I'm spending alot on this computer, around 1800€ which will be the most money I've ever spent on 1 thing. (I'm 18)

How much was your first computer ? (With screen and peripherals)

Do you think it's rational or fine for someone to save up and spend alot of money on their computer ?

Thoughts and opinions let's go !  :D

5000 ish

Frys had an in store MOBO, CPU bundle. While the GPU itself was a refurb with no display cables. If it wasn't for that bundle I would've bought an i5 with a 750 or something.
