What was your first computer?

xserd

My current rig 睦月(Mutsuki, specs in sig) would be the first I built, if you don't count teardowns and reassemblies (which would increase the number to 13)...

I don't know if changing parts to an OEM counts but if it does, then it would have

CPU: i7 3770 (lost it after i took it apart because of a new build) (stock Intel cooler :P )

MoBo: Some OEM Asus H77 Motherboard

RAM: 16 Gb of some Adata 1600 Mhz (I used it in 3 other builds :P )

Graphics Card: eVga GTX 770 4 Gb Superclocked ACX (What i actually changed)

Storage: 2 2 TB 7200 RPM hard drives

Power Supply: (I think) A 650W Raidmax Semi-Modular PSU that has 80+ Gold rating (What I actually changed)

Case: Some OEM Asus case

OS: Windows 8 (then to windows 8.1 which i love)

About 1 year and 1 month ago

My Computer (Yet to be named)

CPU: AMD AthlonXP 2200+

My first self built rig was in 2001:

Pentium 3 700MHz

Abit SE6 motherboard

IBM Deskstar 40GB HDD (overkill at the time)

Creative Labs 12x DVD-ROM and DXR2 MPEG2 decoder card

SoundBlaster Live soundcard

nVidia GeForce 2 GTS (epic GFX card)

RAM was probably 128MB, can't really remember

Monitor was a Philips CRT that at the time had a very slimline shape that swept in around the back

Case was probably something generic

First rig... good grief...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

2GB Mushkin DDR2

Stock 300W PSU

Stock fans, cooler, had a nice grid power button. That was what I used for the longest time, and I ran it on Ubuntu for about 3 years. Then I built my rig I have now and gave the old one to my brother. Dad bought him a 5450 so he could play minecraft on it. He never uses it because our 2009 iMac is still better at playing Minecraft.

That said my current rig is still by far and away the most powerful we have at home (because it runs 16GB and has a 7870)
