Pokemon Go Hype Dying down According to recent analytical data

According to data collected by Sensor Tower, SurveyMonkey and Apptopia, The number of daily active users, downloads, engagement and time spent on the Trending Pokemon Go app each day are off their highs from just a month a go and are showing to be on a downward path ,

 

Pokemon Go became the most downloaded app on both Apple and Android phones within days of its release in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. U.S. online sales for Pokemon-branded merchandise rose 105 percent in July compared with the previous year, inb4 Gotye's new song "Now you're just some app that i used to know"

The app have been a source of weird news for the past few months, People flooding certain areas & some distracted too much disregarding their surrounding getting hurt , it even helped some of the physical stores boost their sales ( one retail chain even reported sales increase by 100% after the store hosted the pokestop) some users stumbled upon dead bodies some fell off cliffs  and the app users have been reportedly targeted by criminals who robbed users when they approach region to catch the pokemon(where's Pikachu when you need him) ,Reported road accident(s) due to usage while driving , was a report that a pregnant lady got hit by a car while playing -_-

The popularity of the app has been so much general consumers  moved over from certain apps they used daily & were more engaged in the Pokemon go app , which technically doesn't sit well with investors & share holders  who expect profits from the company , kinda look at it like printed newspaper loosing to online media, it's gonna do what it can to keep afloat , according to Axiom Capital Management Pokemon Go is starting to lose the battle for mobile 'mindshare'

well of course it gets boring. You can only battle at gyms and no where else.

I use the app, and it's garbage if all you see is the same old pokemon 24/7. Everyday, and everywhere. Hackers obtaining dragonite, and not getting banned off it. (Some did, but not all of them)

 

The game balance is so poor. EVERY ELECTRIC pokemon is weak. Water vs electric somehow the water wins. What the fuck?

The game is super boring and I got bored after catching 2 Pokemon.

The developers say that they're are going to slowly integrate more and more features into the game as it matures. They say that they want to see how the game will be perceived by the public, until they start adding more stuff.

 I played it for a while. Had a little fun with it, then it just became this annoying ass thing that I had to deal with.

 

I'd be at the park walking my dog, and people are running around. Like grown ass fat people who would never exercise unless McDonalds was going to give them a lifetime free food gift card. 

 

I think what really hurt them was they showed this video of all these great things, and beyond catching pokemon, visiting pokestops and hatching eggs there wasn't much else to do. 

 

Plus it didn't help that pretty much everyone, including Luke, showed how to GPS spoof the game. So that took alot of peoples attention away from it. It took the aspect of actually needing to be outside and walking to catch them away. 

Plus they didn't do alot with hackers,spoofers.  

 

Then they basically got websites with up to date pokemon spawn locations taken down. Really? Those sites IMO at least gave someone an idea of where to go to find that one pokemon they couldn't find. 

 

I gave up on it. I played it for probably 2-3 weeks and stopped caring. It's hard for an adult to balance work and fun. I can't focus 10hrs a day to being glued to my phone for some damn pokemon.

As somebody who hit level 25, boy is there fuck-all to do anymore. Not to mention that just about all of the changes to the game haven't made it any better. It's just soulless grinding like you'd get out of something like WoW.

I was very salty about taking out pokevision, but now that I look back at it. The website shouldn't ever have existed. It was basically a tool that hackers would use to catch all of the legendary pokemon. All you have to do is click anywhere in a major city. In seconds you can get a good amount of them.

 

If pokevision, and nest did not exist the hacks would be pointless. You would be searching for hours for rare spawns, and if you do that long enough on a computer it would be extremely boring, but searching in public is a lot more fun. 

 

Now massive amounts of damage is caused. Dragonites everywhere. (FYI you can report people with high CP dragonites, and they will actually ban them) I tried it myself, and I got a person banned for it.

The lack of features and things to do will doom a game to short-term glory. While future updates may address this, for the time being, the game is painfully shallow.

I might start playing again if they start doing something about cheaters. It's not fun playing when 99% of the people I meet at Poke Stops/Gyms are cheating.

Good, this will be better off for Pokemon Go players. The hype only killed the game and generated a much more negative attitude towards such games (thanks Bahrain for banning it; it's not like I can't use a VPN dipshits). If anything this well reduce the massive server lag and hopefully make it easier to communicate with the smaller player base. 

 

Regardless, I don't see the game outright dying anytime soon. The player base is simply too massive to disappear overnight.

Not surprising after they royally screwed the pooch on tracking. If they ever fix it to actually work and provide useful information I foresee it maintaining a decent user base. And some higher level social content will help, battling and trading, but PoGo is dead in the water if they don't work to deliver the experience they showcased in their teaser.
