Gigabyte releasing a cheaper gtx 1070.

Thoughts? 

Personally I was going for the G1 gaming or the ACX 3.0, however depending on how this compares to the founders edition I think it could be a good value 1070.

eehhh, the G1 should just be cheaper IMO, the plan was to have 3rd party card be cheaper then reference but we all know that didnt happen for obvious reasons. well its good to see a cheaper card tbh lets just hope its cheaper and better then the reference model...

Wow without those arrows, i wouldnt have known what the airflow direction is.. Also shroud is too massive.

Considering that this card's selling point is supposed to be that its cheaper, I'm confused as to why they didn't mention a price tag. How much cheaper are we talking about here? It would need to be a price difference of $50 minimum for me to care.

I think it looks ugly with the part missing in front (I know it is to allow for SLI) and fans being offset to right side. But if it's cheaper and performs well, I'm sure people will buy it.

if they can get it out a 1070 (or 1080) at the pricepoint it was supposed to be according to nvidia, I'm perfectly fine. Most people (incl. me) don't care how their GPU looks.

My pc is under my desk (and for the time being without a windowed side panel), so the looks are not too important to me ('course, it gotta be decent). What I'm more interested in is its cooling performance and sound level.

I am pretty sure that is reference PCB so that part on top is probably to hide a heat pipe but it looks much worse with it. Yuck

I like it how first Asus or MSI calling a cheaper GTX1080/1070 and Gigabyte hops on the boat too.

This is just a lame attempts to brainwash people they are buying a cheaper version while in reality,

some aftermarkets Pascal GTX are more expensive than Fanboi Edition.

Unless they drop the price to below 400 euro. There is no "good value" GTX1070. All the cards I've seen are 529 euro and up.

i'd dare to call that a gigabyte trait. my ancient HD5770 still has a copper slug design much like stock intel coolers, and the copper slug is actually about 50% off center from the fan hub.

 

still cools just fine tho. (aside from the fact that card has already murdered two fans..)
