Yes no, on this gun it doesnt matter, trigger takes 10 yards and 50 lbs of pressure to pull it back.  You would have to snag the gun up and force this action (I did not have any issue with drawing from holster to fireready position)

In the end - for me - in all things gun safety related the grey matter between your ears is the ONLY safety that matters - dont use that one, no amount of safeties in the world are going to help you lol.

I'm not one for safeties in general (Glock kinda guy) but when I carried the G26, I definitely made sure the trigger guard area had a hard shell instead of a soft one.

Heard way too many stories of people blowing their dicks off with leather holsters.

Yes, I did carry appendix IWB. I wasn't worried, hard shell over trigger guard, extra careful when reholstering, etc.

I could potentially see it being a "last resort" gun.  If you're under attack in close quarters, for example.  Still, with the constant FTF issues, I wouldn't want to rely on it to save my life.

I can think of about 99999 other handguns I would prefer in for personal defense.  Walther PPQ, for example.

I never claimed it would be a good last resort gun, just that it could potentially be used as such.  If the FTF issue were resolved, it would be a pretty potent little firearm if you're grappling with a bad guy.  Sort of '.38 special' style weapon (though that would likely be a much better choice than this gun).

Though, speaking of last resort guns, this could potentially be another choice:

It might not penetrate that well, but hit someone in the face with it and they'd definitely feel it.

Just picked up its price range competitor TODAY to check them both out - so far the CANIK trigger is quite impressive.

I used to spend a ton on firearms.....but after the past 5 or 6 years, I have sold a lot of them and only have a few left.

Couple of Glocks, couple of ARs, couple of Mini-14s, couple of M1As, a Beretta 92FS, a Colt 1911, and some unfinished lowers. Oh and a 20" 12g pump Mossberg that I've shot once or twice.

I think I might be like you. Just need a few guns that work great, dont necessarily want everything

Just need lots of ammo lol

So thinking of the Impracticality of the Desert Eagle for Self Defense against both Criminals and large animals, Wouldn't a gas-operated handgun in 10mm Auto work a lot better for such proposes?

I mean the Cartridge is shorter with smaller bore size which will make a smaller but still large Pistol. Granted the "Full House" loading is almost the same as the .41 S&W Magnum. With the same drawbacks as a Defense/Police Loading...

Of course the DE is an expensive handgun to begin with...

I am of the opinion that the anti-9mm rhetoric comes from dudes who are trying to overcompensate with huge trucks, huge dogs, and huge caliber ammo.  Few seem to appreciate the fundamental physics of recoil, follow-on-aiming, target penetration, speed of accurate fire on target, etc.  I will take a double-stack 9mm (nearly any brand) over a single-stack with a larger caliber--any day of the week.  Now sure, if you can spend time at the range and practice regularly, something like a Glock 22 and the double-stack .40 is ideal; best of both worlds.

The reason why I firmly believe 9mm is the ideal personal handgun is because it can be controlled (during firing) by almost anyone; big or small, male or female, old or young.  A .44 magnum or something large...and this can happen:

https://www.military.com/video/guns/recoil/girl-double-taps-sw-500-revolver/1255361250001

Not to mention how limp-wristing a recoil can often lead to malfunctions.  Recoil needs to be manageable (for the individual) or follow-on shots are iffy at best.

Just my $.02.  In any event...

The thin girl shooting the .500 Magnum would be funny if it wasn't pathetic. She could have broken her hand(s).

Or given that it is a DA Revolver with a heavy trigger, the barrel could have ended up pointing at another person... Or simply whack herself right across her forehead.

I'm personally a proponent of the 9mm as well, but I have no issue recommending .380 for people, either.  My first pistol was a .380, and the only reason I eventually got rid of it was because of slide bite, mainly due to small firearm and big hands.  Never had that problem with any of my 9mm firearms.

Speaking of 9mm, anyone shot the new Charter Arms 9mm NATO and .45 ACP Revolvers? The last I looked at their Site, they don't Moon Clips at all. They are able to reject the empty brass without them.

Speaking Of Revolvers, there is a Company in England that make a $10,000 for well heeled folks. A .357 Magnum. It is of the Enfeld Design. Which of course is based off Webley Models. How about producing one here in the US that is much cheaper chambered in Modern Ammo? Like 9mm, .45, .22 LR, and .22 Magnum?

For 5.56 I reload Hornady lead core 62gr FMJ (no steel).  Makes it nice as it shoots pretty close to the same poi as the PPU M855 factory ammo I have.

Now that the weather is getting clear again, I need to go to a range and sight-in a few things that've been hanging around in my safe for a while. I want to take something other than my trusty .243 out for deer next season, it does great, but my old M1884 Springfield has basically lived in storage grease its entire existence and I'd like to give it purpose.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Haven't been shooting in a while but got the reloading bench fired back up and starting making 9mm again.  Fun to turn out a bunch of fresh new rounds, the 30cal ammo can holds just over 1K rounds.  I'll have it full by this weekend, didn't quite get it there the other night.
