Smoking Barrels - LTT's Unnofficial Gun Club!

False. The tight tolerances is the exact reason that you can literally bury an AR in mud and it will run without issue.

Whereas the Valmet M76 will jam in 5 shots or less, and that's the best performance of the AK platform. It's also a tighter tolerance rifle than an AKM. Soviet AKM's jam in 2 rounds.

The lose tolerances of the AK works against in in mud and dust, because it gathers in slide rails, locking lugs, and locking surfaces of the trigger group.

By design, the AR15, as well as the SCAR and G3, keep foreign debris out.

The AKM, by design, is a cheaply produced gun made for an unqualified army of drunkards.

All I can say is keep telling yourself that. You can continue being wrong.

InRange TV did mud tests on the AKM, Valmet M76, and AR15.

Both the AKM and Valmet malfunctioned every test. The AR15 did not.

The AKM being more reliable is propaganda. It isn't. It's only better when unmaintained. Which is fine if you're a drunkard or arming an army of drunkards. But with even mininal maintenence, and the only advantage the AK platform has goes out the window.

Hi yall, i have been around here before under a different username, some of you may remember me. Im from norway and have studied gunsmithing but failed the exam so im not a gunsmith yet but ly aim is to redo the exam in a year or two.

IMG_20190702_160749.thumb.jpg.9e117561950ae7c05a53fbf298e3ceae.jpg

Heres a part of the exam, a side lock for a shotgun with an exposed hammer.

Currently have two hunting rifles that are under construction:

A Remington no5 Rolling Block that Will be chambered in 45-70:

(90cm barrel)

And my "fun gun" a mauser k98k cut down and "stutzen-ified" in 30-06:

IMG_20190525_202732.thumb.jpg.f0b64d780bc2f5c1bb9d5edf96a5bd10.jpg

And then theres my shotgun wich is finished and ready for hunting:

received_597403374012617.jpeg.6f3af745379eb864c4b2dd84a6b78a01.jpeg

Integrally supressed short barrel 12 gauge, i designed and built the supressor in 12 hours as a school project during gunsmithing class.

Sorry for the insanely long post... Oops

Before supressing? No clue but it gave me a really mild concussion after 6-7 shots with the short barrel.

After supressing it clocks in at 80~db with sub sonic ammo

You know how the buffer in the stock of an AR is supposed to be in one piece?

Mine wasn't like that.

Thankfully, it was just the cheap rubber Tacfire uses in their poorly made buffers.

I normally hate gold on guns.  (I surprisingly like it on my phones and tablet).  But I normally don't care for gold on guns.

We got one of these in the gun store, and I'm really liking how it looks, and I don't know why.  But in person, I'm really liking how it looks.

Been thinking of picking up an M&P .380 EZ anyways.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

"It has an easy to operate slide"

That's literally the reasoning.

But by god does it feel good in the hand, and it's trigger isn't trash.

It's not much bigger, if at all, than my current carry piece also.  I'd just like something that wouldn't make me bleed also.

So a shared trait with most handguns chambered in 9mm Luger or 9mm Kurz. Got it.

9mm "kurz" is the european/german way of saying 9mm short or .380 acp (9x17mm). much easier to say .380acp and avoid the confusion.

I'm pretty sure he's saying that guns chambered in 9mm Luger or 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP) have easy to manipulate slides, not that 9mm luger = 9mm kurz.

Does anyone have any recommendation on an EDC holster for someone who wears tucked in shirts almost everyday?

I am looking at a compact 9mm (have not purchased yet but 99% certain I am getting the S&W M&P Shield M2.0 9mm). I am a big guy (I always have a slight belly at the least and a big beer belly at most). I wear tucked in shirts about 5 days out of the week. If I am not dressed up I am wearing jeans (gym shorts maybe 2% out of the year). I prefer it be concealable as I am not a big fan of open carry (I am fine with the handle sticking out when I am not looking for 100% concealable). I know about Alien Gear Holsters but not anything else.

I would like to keep costs reasonable but I know if you want reliable and lasting you need to pay for it.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

ORLY?

I've been super happy with Crossbreed's SuperTuck holsters, though I would really encourage you to rent/fire a Shield before purchasing if you can. I had a shield for a few months and it always just didn't feel right when carrying or firing it; it could be due to me not upgrading the trigger but I tend to lean on the side of I shouldn't have to upgrade a gun after purchasing it just to carry/shoot it comfortably.

I have dry fired it a few times and I really like the trigger. The 8 round mag has the handgun fit well in my hand. I might call my local range and see if they have one.

If it fits you well then go for it, now that I'm thinking about it mine was a 1.0 instead of 2.0, which I believe were known for mushy triggers.
