As you can see in the background there is a 120mm radiator.  The graphics card itself is pretty small, practically half the length of the R9 295X2. This should be expected since AMD had promised compact form factors for its upcoming HBM powered flagship at the Financial Analyst Day. This is obviously a render, but an official render. Yes it is from WCCFTech, but it's the only picture we have at the moment. WCCF doesn't state a source, and most the information inside of the article is from older articles, and obviously some of the information received from Financial Analyst Day. What makes me curious, if this is the render and final render for the 390X. If it is this small, perhaps they are incorporating some sort of full cover block accompanied by an AIO 120mm radiator. The only way it could be this small is if they have coverage on the VRM's as well as the chip. This also means that HBM will definitely deliver being that it will be stacked, taking up much less space than normal GDDR5. The possibilities are endless if this is the final rendition of the 390X, you could most likely stick this in practically any case without worry. And since it has over 1.45 times the amount of stream processors than a 290x, coupled with HBM, it could easily be 40% faster than a 290X.

Fuck...

I like long gpu's not small ones...

Well as long as there is a long version...

Also, lets hope there are some Lightning PCB's or I will die...

there might be a one with a fan so calm down

Something tells me this thing better be a power house that can kick some ass or AMD is going to have a hard time... Remember GTX 480s? Power hungry as fuck, 24/7 heater, and was a decently fast card in it's time... Lets see if that's what this is. :P

...sigh...I'm so done with these jokes.

Uh you know the stock card literally is watercooled, right? Like... it's not a joke. The card literally is so hot that AMD forwent air cooling entirely...

Like how people can call this a fanboyish statement is beyond me: the picture has the fucking rad in the background o.0

As of late, WCCFTech actually has been accurate for the most part (surprisingly).

...sigh...I'm so done with these jokes.

After the 900 series and their power consumption/temps you would think that AMD would step up their game while they skipped an entire year generation of cards.

Show me an mini-itx sized air cooled TitanX.

Nvidia doesn't allow 3rd party cooler Titan cards but Asus makes an ITX 980.

EDIT

I though that I read something about a Mini-ITX 980. Mistake on my part.

They don't. They make a GTX 970 ITX, but not a GTX 980 ITX.

Why do people bother using WCCFTech...

The last few times they've leaked rumors have actually been true, I haven't seen anything in quite awhile that was super overly shady.

I don't know. Usually the "x80" cards have long PCBs no matter what. My 970 and 770 had shorter boards than my 780.

I'm aware, but he's overgeneralizing by calling all AMD cards hot which is not true. It's fanboyish, intended or not.

Last generation they did. They were very firmly behind Intel and Nvidia in terms of heat output (mainly because their products bar a couple were years old at [re]launch), to the point where the stock 290X was practically useless its TDP and cooler were so poorly matched. In response to Maxwell AMD really needed a message that they were taking heat seriously this time and making something efficient. So they pulled another 9590 and shoved an AIO on it. Not exactly promising.

Back in the 480/580 era the places of Nvidia and AMD were rightfully switched but things have changed a lot since then.

I like the idea of stock water-cooler, just not made by Asetek. No more Asetek pump in my system.

Yeah I have one in temporarily while I paint my 212 black. Rather pay $15 for paint than $90 for a Dark Rock.

Maxwell I can't argue with whatsoever, but other than the 290(X)s, AMD generally had decent heat output for all of their cards.

The lower end cards certainly handled it better than the flagship cards.

Well they probably could make a ITX 980.

Even if they could, it still doesn't mean that FijiXT is less efficient than Maxwell.

Current speculation is that FijiXT is meant to meet of exceed TitanX levels of performance, which is considerably more powerful than the GTX980. The only way we can find out if FijiXT is less efficient is if there was a Mini-ITX GM200 card, or if we wait to see power draw vs performance graphs.

Until than, any statement for or against the comparison of efficiency of FijiXT vs Maxwell is premature and ignorant.
