Experiences with non-techies

I thought y'all might enjoy this.

I am highlighted in blue, my friend is highlighted in green, and the idiot it yellow.

And this happened afterwards, my friend sent me a screenshot, LOL.

I about died trying to go through this again.

Dude, I actually facepalmed the moment I saw all of this mouse BS about the apple mouse. What a fag.

This actually happened last weekend.  I was training my new intern and thought I was giving him a rather easy test.  I pointed at the power supply and asked him what it was.  He said matter of factly: "RAM".  (I couldn't help putting my head in my hands out of frustration)

So there is this nurse who does physical therapy with my grandfather and one day he calls me in there while she is here. And she has a macbook air sitting on the table. She says and I quote "Hey could you help me, a few years ago I paid the apple store to put windows on my laptop along with safari, (she thought safari was the entire operating system of os x) she said now that I took it in for a tune up and a new hard drive the windows went "poof" and now all I have is safari. Does that happen a lot with windows? cause that is the main reason why I don't use pc's and the only reason I had windows put on here is for work. Otherwise I would just use the safari, she then goes on to say "you should get a mac cause you never know when your pc is just going to go poof and then everything is gone.

I was speechless and said, oh yeah that happens a lot. Went back into my room and laughed so hard I almost peed a little. This my friends is the "average" mac user.

Ok,ok, i need everybody to brace yourself, because you will pass out after reading this.

My friends friend ordered parts for a gaming pc (including a GTX Titan), but something went wrong with the shipping, so most part was destroyed but not the Titan. The website just sent another full set of parts to him. H ebuilded the computer with one Titan. One. And he had two. What happened to the other one, you may ask. He gave it away to his friend for free. FOR FREE. HE GAVE AWAY A GTX TITAN FOR FREE.

I would have done that as well. it's no big deal since he scored it for free and his friend needed it. When some of the people here learn what true friendship is you'll understand that giving parts away is no real biggy and he might be rewarded for it later, trust me friends don't forget these kinds of things.

I would have probably given the extra titan to my little brother and my current rig to a friend of mine for free and taken his rig and given his rig to another friend and just taken whatever was left and build some third pc since I already have 2x one being high end the other being better than a console at least.

oh and I'd have given my 660 Ti that my little bro has now to the 2nd friend who got friend #1's leftovers.

I'm not even kidding.

So the other day, I was at my French class at school. We got handed out laptops because we needed to do an activity. So, I was sitting next to this kid. He said, "HA, these laptops are so weak. They only have an i5 and 8GB of RAM. The i7 is the best and they should have at LEAST 32GB of RAM." I then explained to him that i7's are only useful for video editing and other CPU intensive tasks and that almost all games these days can't use the extra cores. In response to this, he said "Well I do video editing. I have 32 RAM, the most amount you can get. It cost a lot though." (Note that he didn't say the units, GB, he just said 32. I then asked him how much he spent on his computer. He said "$50,000."

As Lanoi said, this is why I hate my generation. They are the most ignorant and mind numbingly stupid kids I have seen. They boast and lie, their primary motive is to be 'cool'.

And as Kurt Vonnegut said, "True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country."

Oh well I guess that means I have windows 7.

Same here.

A kid plugged a MagicGate into a USB port to my facepalm, and it WORKED! (This kid is a moron, he's the one that knew how to build a PC because he was in the Mouse Squad and yet could not mount a motherboard)

And he was all like "Do you have a Mac? Mac's are like, so cool, they support everything and it is like so fast and has all sorts of geek features."

My response:

On a similar note, my friend thinks that nerds use Linux-based machines, REAL gamers use Windows, and nerds/hipsters use Macs... He uses a 2008-ish POS Dell laptop with Windows XP Home Edition (NO FREAKING SERVICE PACK!!!) and IE6.

A kid at school was having trouble comprehending what I was looking at once.

It was this:

Enthusiast-Z87-Haswell-1150-Motherboard-

First time I saw something like this I was like Waaaaaaaa so interesting! Must learn everything!

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

Most gamers do use windows since that is the most compatible platform.

one word: WINE.

There are lots of ways of making games work on Linux and a lot of gamers actually do that.
