Experiences with non-techies

Ok so, you know, there are folders that only you can access since they're yours, but problem was that you could access to the folders of the people in your entire class and vice versa, but that was ok I guessed, until I found out that you could access the personal folders of the teachers, which contained all the futur homeworks and stuff, so yeaaahhh... I told the IT guy about it and he then called the principal, and they were like, "how about you fix this for us and tell nobody about it ?" I was okay with that, but yeah, detention...

You told someone... They're coming for you O.o

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

That's a really dumb idea to give a kid detention for finding a security hole in the school's network... Shame on them.

Especially since he did the responsible thing and told the authorities what the flaw was instead of just exploiting it for his own gain.

Yeah but you know, some people still thought that I did this on purpose and that I was a hacker, and you know what non-techie people think about hackers...

yep, all hackers are evil, even if they are just testing system security for faults lol

"HEY GUYS I CAN DOWNLOAD MORE RAM!!!"

http://www.downloadmoreram.com/

people these days ...sheesh. This gets me every time though.

What's probably gonna happen is downloading more RAM is gonna become a thing and all us techies are gonna be the last one to try it because well be like, this is a hoax! You can't download RAM!!!

We have that particular flaw in our school. I had the chance to access my math teacher's grade-list for our class but didn't do it. Maybe I will show the IT manager the exploit. (He's A: awesome B: really techy C: Understands how we techies feel when dealing with nontechies. :P)

Today in the library a kid was using my computer sort of with my permission. He copied a paragraph from an article, got angry that word wasn't there. I quickly hit START+R, typed in "write", pasted, and printed. Of course our idiotic printers failed to print, and when I closed the WordPad window the kid yelled at me for "deleting my precious work." I went full-Linus on him: ( :P)

A) I didn't delete your frakkin' work. I just closed the window.

B. IT IS STILL ON THE FREAKING CLIPBOARD!!!!!!

C) Since when was the work yours? You copied-and-pasted a paragraph from an article.

That's that.

A kid thought that an AT motherboard was a game. AGAIN. sigh....

EDIT: Sorry that I couldn't get that story to you straight from the school library. I was dealing with a printer that wasn't spooling my GDrive presentation fast enough to print, resulting in weird shit.

I didn't say that to him. I was ranting to myself in my mind.

Aah stupid thing, didn't realize the B with the parenthesis would make the sunglasses.

Oh and when I said full-Linus, I was referencing the video where he raged at his membrane keyboard and tossed it off the roof of the LMG house.

I showed the damn board to him and he STILL thought it was a game.

There's a germaphobic kid in my school that I'm friends with. I walked by him with a parallel port modem and he went into Germ Defense mode.

BTW there wasn't even a goddamn ethernet port on it, it went straight to the phone port in the wall and to a serial port.
