Paperchase
  • 1 month later...

Planning to rebuild my PC (Sig). Upgrading to a 5930k with the intel holiday deal so I'm getting new Ram, a new x99 motherboard, and figure its time for a new case. I've been a diehard fractal design fan the past few years but wouldn't mind a change. I've been looking into the nzxt cases but I'm open to ideas. Don't care too much about price as long as its reasonable. No flashiness. No red or gaming accents.

Needs to be able to accommodate the Zotac Amp Extreme 980ti. It's about a 12in graphics card.

Corsair Air 540

Good airflow, and it's a cube. I'd love one, to paint to become a borg cube. Kinda like what TinyTomLogan did.

Well, like anything else of course I'll end up getting a case like. But it's nice hearing other people's opinions. Maybe someone lists a case I've never heard of? That's the point of this forum isn't it?

Well that and to bash Apple   :D

I used the Fractal Node 804 in most of the office builds I did this year and last year. The case is really easy to build in and doesn't take much to take off all of the panels to make building in it even easier.

Only thing I wish it had were velcro straps on the motherboard tray like Phanteks does. Other than that, favorite case to build in since it just looks professional/minimal and easy to build in.

My favorite case is the one I have. The Core 500. But it won't fit that Graphics Card.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro (M)?

Ugh, I dislike it, too much plastic sticking around that prevents bigger fans/rads to be installed, not to mention the 2x 3.5 hdd limit with those cheap hdd trays, both of mine broke pretty fast, the plastic of choice is too stiff + that hole underneath them.. Can't even put a dust filter there unless it's 280mm size.

Personally I don't have an all time favorite yet, I guess the BitFenix prodigy itx case is the best I've had so far.

SG13B, but it might be too small for your GPU. I just put an MSI GTX 970 (~11.6in) and it was pretty close. Useful for my small dorm space, though.

I'm starting to get a soft and tickly spot for the Define R5 Blackout right now. :P

Enthoo Pro is still top bae unless I can get my hands on the R5 Blackout. Then things might change.

it is a very modern looking case. I like it a lot.

I plan on getting the R5 blackout after struggling to decide between that and an H440 black.

The cheapest i can find right now is $110 but NCIX US usually has it for $90. Waiting till that happens and I'll pounce on it.
