My favourite case is the Black/Red Corsair 780T. Would love to use it for my build next year, only problem is it is too expensive for me.

 

If you like some modded case, feel free to post pictures. I would love to see them.

I am really loving the new Inwin cases shown off at Computex. Very sexy. I do believe they should be available for purchase right now if I am not mistaken.

Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX. Lucky enough to own it's ITX cousin.

Although some of the stuff Inwin's been coming out with is seriously appealing.

The In Win 805 ain't look half bad. The new EVGA DG-87 looks pretty cool too.

I'm planning on switching to a HexGear R80 in white. The design is outstanding (not perfect, but close). It will be replacing my CaseLabs case. The rotated motherboard/case, the 4 aluminum braces, and radiator room is what really sells it for me.

HexGear have for sure done a great job with both design and production. :) Simon Laine does some pretty fantastic stuff both from scratch and based on existing cases as well.

One thing I would change is making space for a single front bay such as an optical drive, USB 3.0 front, headphone/audio jack, it would just take up a single fan space and still leave room for plenty of liquid cooling. It's the frame that really gets me. That Simon guy looks like a professional.

The thing about front bay and IO is that it has a huge impact on the final look. I think it would break up the front too much to be honest. With audio and USB passthroughs on most modern keyboards it has become a bit redundant as well I think.

True, but for myself as a workstation user it's kind of a necessary requirement. That being said, that's where the rotated case/motherboard comes in handy, but still even then even just a small area for front I/O for something like an optical drive and/or a card/drive reader is definatley helpful. I do see your point though, some are willing to 'sacrifice' or 'offer' that up for perfectly acceptable reasons as they may not use those features at all.

With a little creativity you could probably get away with mounting a slim slot-loading optical drive and a card / some IO in a rather stealthy way. Definitely a worthwhile project. :)

Phanteks Enthoo Primo. The case is larger then a 900D and is much better quality. Has room for everything ever.

NCase M1 is my favorite, that's why I just bought it. For ATX though the new Be Quiet Cases look really nice

So I've started drawing up soft plans for a new PC build, but my problem is that the vast majority of cases are either just boring, or ugly as all hell. For me, the case should be something that's really pleasing to the eye - it's the first thing you notice about a PC, and it's also probably somewhere pretty prominent. I don't want to spend loads of money on components for a machine that's going to be ugly. I eventually settled on Lian Li and InWin (super expensive, but they do some great looking cases).

 

My search also gave me an idea, I can't be the only one in the community looking for a good looking case, so what are your favourites? And why?


my current favourite is the InWin 909: http://www.inwin-style.com/en/gaming-chassis/909 with the smaller 904 in a close second. I really like the single piece of aluminium paired with the tempered glass. I've heard they're pretty difficult to work with, but that's a case I'd love to have on my desk.
