PS4 and Xbox have raised PC system requirements

While I was reading this aritcle I opened my Case, looked at my 770 and just smiled. Closed the Door, and felt like a child on Christmas

"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare recommends four gigabytes of video memory and eight gigabytes of system RAM."

WUUUUUT. Explain how i could run it max settings on a freaking 7850, then. Wtf is this noob site?

This means games designed for the new consoles have access to far more video memory than a mid-range computer, and that’s starting to cause problems for PCs.
PC gaming just became more expensive
...so last-generation ports would occasionally trip up mid-range PCs. Grand Theft Auto IV is a good example of this.
New cross-platform titles are putting computers to the test because they’re designed for consoles that, in certain ways, are fundamentally better for games than an average PC.

Oh, and what is this all about?

At the beginning of 2014 an owner of any mid-range rig with two gigabytes of RAM and a fast dual-core or mediocre quad was assured solid performance in most console ports.

Were they drunk or something while writing this? That is the most insane thing anyone has ever said.

At 2GB RAM windows partitions your HDD for memory access! (Windows Vista 64 bit and up)

Causing massive lag and drive failure.

I skimmed through, couldn't handle the stupidity...
Especially how they mention Ubisoft games on PC.

ill just say what i posted on the article:

where the heck are you getting your information? and WHY would you use assassin's creed unity as an example? that runs like crap on consoles too. and you are comparing the way consoles run these same games on a mix of medium and high settings with little to no AA to a PC which will run it at maxed out settings with high or maxed AA. thats like comparing a mustang to a Lambo in a race except the lambo has twice to 3 times the distance to cover and still wins in the end.

The consoles raised system requirements? Tell me more about their piss poor mobile CPU and their 7850/7870 GPUs.

Except that they have.

Games are mainly designed around capabilities of consoles as you know, when the 360/ps3 were getting old and limited, they didnt push graphics more because they wouldnt work on consoles.

Now with the ps4/xone, they can create better graphics than what they could with the previous consoles, which when ported to pc mean stronger hardware to run. Its really not that hard to understand.

Games that were PC exclusive are obviously not affected by this

This is the problem. Games are optimized for consoles, while PCs for the most part are left in the cold. I understand it's more difficult to test PC hardware, but come on. Devs are now doing an awful job of developing and optimizing games. Ubisoft was/is making poor excuses not to push 60FPS. Not sure if they're still doing it though.
