2 of my friends smoked weed, one of them got very paranoid and could not focus at all, they were walking together. One of them stopped while the other kept on going without realizing that his friend stopped.  He also thought every beep from a car was his mom/dad and got very scared that he was going to get caught.

 

He also said he was never never going to do it again, he did it like 5 more times, the first time claiming it was very bad, how it fucks up your brain, the 4th and 5th time claiming it was just for recreational use.

Really? I smoke often without getting paranoid, and so do loads of others. 90% of the "paranoia" comes from the negative social stigma associated with it. Most of the rest (and I've seen this) comes from first timers smoking WAY more than they should. Kind of like that kid that drinks WAY too much the first time and gets sick as a bitch.

Beer doesn't cause paranoia to my knowledge. Some people just freak out when they get stoned, I've seen it before, any stoner has. That's just that person's reaction, and if they react like that they shouldn't smoke it. That doesn't mean that we should lock people up for 5 years and ruin their lives over it does it? And before you mention the "gateway drug" idea, let me just state that if that was true we should outlaw all caffeine because caffeine is the most addictive substance known to man, and in it's concentrated form (powdered) is extremely deadly.

 

I used to smoke all day long and deliver pizza in the inner city (yes whilst driving *prepares mentally for a stream of hatred*) and I never had a problem. The one day I went in sober, some asshat in a neon head on'ed me by crossing into my lane *shrugs*. I was also based on average delivery times, the fastest delivery driver domino's had in that city.
