Weird I thought the AC44CW was a Dash 8.

The third closest one now I can tell it's not GE and is EMD since the radiator's differ. Really tough to see the others besides the first one.

I’m not much of a judge on portraiture, I like the subject. Framing could be better, left arm clipped a bit. I’d probably frame for just the top hand, mic and face. Zoom in on that one eye and really get it prominent and sharp.

Hey,

So i am in interested in photography and from now on i would also be sharing my shots.

i will be starting from the 1st post done on my page.

the quality of shots might be down as i am just downloading them from my insta profile otherwise have to search a lot to find each pic individually.

I like the choice to go with BW for this image. It makes the silhouette the focus and brings the bring straight to attention. Personally, I would probably bring more of the tree into the frame for additional context, or if possible, get closer/zoom into to the bird itself. This would be to place the bird either in the exact center or top third of the frame and try to balance the frame a bit more.

For my submission, this a photo I got a while back were I tried getting a shot of a boat passing by a fisher while I was out near the beach.

Like the composition and the choice to shoot a really fast shutter to freeze everything.

I'll give 2 grades for the same shot. Went to the Western Railway Museum a few weeks back for a interurban ride through wildflowers. The ride was nice and the tour after was great.

I love both versions. The full-color one because it shows an example of the beautiful paint job of old rail cars and the other one because it looks so dated and full of history. The only thing I might change would be to slightly rotate the image in post so the rail car is not slanted and maybe crop the image just slightly at the bottom so the green thing is out of frame. Great shot!

Here's mine. I took this photo a few years ago. It was one of those rare moments where low-hanging clouds or torrential rain both didn't get in the way when photographing lightning.

I love the color and the low clould is perfect.

I don't really have any gripes I was going to say noise but you have to crank ISO to get a good lightning shot.

Love the atmosphere, looks pretty good given the circumstance, but yeah, of course when you're shooting 1/60 for a moving object it's not going to look super sharp.

Here's mine- I like to call it the Cosmic Koi, I took it in a Chinese garden. Fuji xt30 with a xf56 1.2, iso 640, 1/1000. Going to post the photo as taken, and the edited photo just for kicks.

I like the colors and details in the edit, works well with the replaced background as well. I'm also curious what the original shot would have looked like with the same level of editing, as it works quite well without having the "cosmic" look to it.

For this photo I tried to get the pantomime just as the stage lights focused on him within the crowd. Turned it B&W as the colors here didn't add much to the shot and I wanted to just capture the moment itself.

While the colors look nice everything is quite soft and has quite a bit of noise. The small sensor with high MP count isn't doing so well.

I really like the mood in the picture, as the sunset floods the whole image in beautiful warm colors. The foreground with the rails between the plants and the background with the sea and clouds are truly idyllic.

The only minor points of criticism would be to make a slight crop to remove the car and the post. And (I'm sure you already know this) to increase the exposure time so you can lower the ISO, making the picture clearer and fully utilizing the camera's dynamic range.

I don't crop my photos till I pick what platform they are going on so most of the ones I share here are just the full shot.
I tend to embrace some noise in my photos, Fuji color science and filter pattern makes it look a lot more like film grain. I also need to be at ISO800 and above to get the most DR.

Feels very sterile, I almost want a funky lens or filter to make it seem less perfect

I like how the attention gets focused by the yellow light and lines, so my favourite would be the first one since it does a really good job at highlighting yellows (notice how the light is casted onto a black border line on that one)

Took that one last autumn. Olympus E500 + Helios 44-2, f/5.6 and ISO of 200 IIRC. Really wanted to make that sunset gradient to show off.

Yes, I had an account here before. Do not ask me about something related to current political events in the part of the planet I live in - I wouldn't answer that for my own sake and safety. Feel free to address me with any other kind of questions.

The touch of gold in the flowers, in contrast to the setting sun, is very nice.

I haven't done much photography in some time, life gets in the way of creativity, but I've been working on a 1937 Underwood typewriter Portable and thought the afternoon lighting, filtered through my curtains would look nice

Nikon D3x, with 90mm Macro lens f/22 0.8sec on a tripod, ISO100 with CWB. No post work done.

A little taste of what I've been up to lately.

beautiful shot I wish I had time this summer to get out and explore.

I really hate the lights here, I think its sodium instead of LEDs. These trains were both late after a number of signaling and crossing gate issues delayed them

tbh, It actually looks a scene straight of dystopian sci-fi… I like it

This picture was sort of an accident. Wanted to capture only the sparks comping of the tip of the bonfire, but managed to snag this angry/disgruntled looking flame chicken…

Bidoof, I hope they weren't trying to summon something through the bonfire

Samsung S8+ (I didn't have me actual camera on me at the time) 4.2 mm ƒ/1.7 1/180 ISO1250.
Shot through Camera FV-5 because I like raw images to play around with
