Checking my Rigs last night I discovered one of my UPSes was unhappy and my 3 smaller systems (1660ti, 1070ti & dual with 2070a & 2060s) had shutdown. Though I was in the next room, with all the Fans running and the headphones on watching video, I didn't hear the alarm screaming for almost an hour.

lol i think the Noctua d15 is better than aio's i had a 280 aio on my 3900 and it would saturate it and run hot very quickly my d15 tamed the beast...when the 7900x3d comes out its what i will still depend on but maybe d15v2 if it comes out at some point,

Same thing happened to me a few days ago, I was in an electronics lab and heard that awful grinding sound from the general vicinity of my laptop - thought the last fan on my laptop had conked as well...turned out someone was running the motor on an Arduino board

This is why alarms should always be wired to big, red, blinking lights for maximum anxiety

Curious question:

Currently folding 16984 on my 2600X, second time today, but it doesn't show in the performance database, how many entries does it take for a new entry CPU/GPU to show up?

It looks like it's made it's way on to the list now.

More less, it can take 6 hours to a day of folding a WU to get enough samples for a device and to allow the time for some of the backend data processing scripts on my side to process that info, add it to the DB then re-publish the DB pages / API data for the client.

It's ONLY a single horn though. The stigma of not having a double horn is real. I was passed on solos without even getting an audition because I ONLY had a single horn. (Better sound quality is harder on a single horn because there are no aides, no safeties, just you and the horn.)

As a trumpet player that was often told to "sound as much like a french horn as you can" because the horn players couldn't play the part...I feel you.  Unfortunately, french horn isn't easy to play right, so a lot of people don't.  That's sad, since it is one of the most pleasant instruments if somebody can play it well.

My late father is the reason I started playing. He found an old King Cleveland (super heavy, well made) and wanted to learn another instrument since he'd already done trumpet and flugelhorn, and I asked if I could play and I got sound immediately. 

 

Horn isn't inherently difficult to play. Playing it well is hard. The goal of a French horn is to melt your heart, rip it out of your chest, smush it on the floor, and then put it all back together perfectly.

As a horn player, if there wasn't someone who was moved emotionally by the performance, we didn't do our jobs. When you hear huge power chords, huge descending scales, or you start getting that swelling feeling in your chest and you are getting choked up, THAT is a French horn.

Points look good i will say EOC is a bit more off today for the high WU peeps than normal but our numbers jive with F@H centeral

I work in a lab where we use liquid nitrogen. I fear one day this may happen to me with the oxygen alarm
