Luckily when I said it was almost done, I really meant it.

For the last time in 2020, ladles and gentlespoons, here a blog post.

And with that said, it's a wrap! Thank you for everyone getting involved, if you'd like to continue talking about folding why not head over to The Folding Community Board

I love how the estimated credit drops like a rock when sending a WU, my upload speed is 95.75 Kilobytes a second so I lose a good chunk off the estimated credit when it finally completes...😒

Got to love good old DSL...

Do you have your FAH client configured to start on the next WU while the first one is sending?  I think it should do that on its own, but I've had mine set to download the next WU at 95% completion of the current WU that I don't remember.

I believe it does it on it's own. I have not set it to do that. How would you do that?

In the advanced viewer, go to configure -> Expert.  The setting you want to add is next-unit-percentage.  I don't know if all three settings are required or not, but they may be, so I'd add them in as well if you don't feel like experimenting.

You don't really want it set to 95%. At the moment there is no shortage of WU so you want that number as high as possiable I'm at 99% at the moment. The reason for this is you start to lose points as soon as the WU is down loaded, the longer the WU is sat waiting to start the more points you lose.

I should say that helps, but what I observed when It was finishing (not set to folding) the credit kept going down as it was uploading the WU not while downloading it. When it was sending that WU the numbers were dropping.

okay

I also subtracted the total score from before and after that WU and it was that same dumbed down WU credit from the upload... Is this normal? It was about 20,000 higher before it dropped it down while uploading...

Yes that is normal. The points are worked out from the time you download until the time it completes the upload. If the upload takes a long time you lose points.

Got a RX 550 in the mail today ( 550?! I know.. but beggars can't be choosers :( ). Does anyone know of a good guide for settings up an AMD card in an Ubuntu derivative? For opencl\folding that is. The kernel drivers work great for the desktop and games but I don't think it'll fold that way

@Gorgon has a guide over here for getting AMD graphics card folding in Ubuntu.

May have to check with him to see how he is doing with Ubuntu 20.04 + AMD 20.40 drivers though. YMMV.

Well thank you for the information, my upload speeds are dirt slow so I guess I get to live with it. (There aren't many good ISPs in my location)
