Okay, here we go again. So the CTM system is about circumventing technological measures. Similar to the DMCA but its even worse. There is no time limit for youtube to respond to appeals, same company can file it as many times as they want no limit on how many times the same video can be flagged, and it results in a community guideline strike. Cherry on top of the cake is that there is no mention of this in the community guidelines anywhere. The youtuber who made a video about this is currently waiting for the second strike on the same video to get resolved. He is waiting since 17. December. As for the content its about jailbraking the switch so it can run homebrew stuff(nothing illegal).

 

 

 

Well this is pretty bad, the description is so generic that it can be applied to almost anything. And without any protection from consecutive false claims, and indefinitely open disputes this is gonna end very badly. There are a whole lot of legal and actually helpful videos on fixing/modding stuff that can be taken down with this...

Why can't someone make a replacement. Sure it's a huge gamble but every content creator that isn't a sellout is looking to move

Yeah, if you pay for Youtube Red (or "Premium" as they call it these days) you're a chump...the only thing relatively worth it is the YouTube Originals content that is pay-walled and I don't see that having as many issues as the "game modding and device jailbreaking" community this topic is about. Youtube really need to stop playing the copyright police.  The laws are pretty simple, what youtuibe is doing goes well beyond their scope.
