Finally bought something non-tech related for once! I'm not a big jewelry guy but I wear watches once in a while so I figured I would treat myself and grab one. It's not the fanciest one but I'm a bigger fan of more simple styles anyway:

It was between this one, and another with a rose-gold bezel and black leather strap but this one was vibing with me a bit more. Plus, the green will go with my 1060 and my fanboy Razer gear! xD

Looks good.  I'd have skipped on the rose gold too.  But then I usually wear a $15 Timex.  I break too many watches at work.

Thanks! Yeah the rose gold was definitely a bit much. If it was just a regular gold bezel I probably would've been more tempted but the muted green dial really sold it for me xD

Now with the recent release of the GTX1080ti I feel stupid with one of these in my hand right now:

Spoiler

UYDB0vG.jpg

But it was no purchase for what is worth, it was a trade, my old Maxwell Titan X plus a Zotac GTX 1070 Founders Edition for it, only 1 month used. The guy who bought it regretted and needed to retrieve some cash to pay off his car fix, and when trying to sell it he got a great offer but the person thought it was the Maxwell one, so my brother made a deal with him, he sold my old Titan, got my brothers 1070 which he wasn't even using much, just plays CS:GO and LoL so our old GTX 560ti was enough replacement.

he did go through it all to give me the XP as a birthday gift and also we can use my rig for the single player AAA no need for two high end rigs so it was a cool deal, we just need a beefier 4k TV eventually at the end of the year, playing with this at the 40ich 1920x1080p is the definition of overkill, and yes the 1080ti made us both more upset than happy, at least we still have the only card that can trade blows with it xD

I feel that the weird 11gb VRAM and slightly lower memory bus was for the Titan X owners felt less bad xD

If we have a look at the Titan XP block diagram, you'll notice there's 12 memory controllers. Each of those memory controllers goes to one of the memory chips. Memory in a GPU is basically one big happy RAID0. Since the 1080 Ti is a neutered Titan XP (I mean, it has to be), NVIDIA simply lopped off one of the memory controllers or they lopped off one of the ROP units and lopped off a memory controller as well to avoid another 970 fiasco.

I mean, the PS3 had 7 SPUs instead of the Cell's planned 8 in order to maximize yield.

Damn, 1405 kg empty weight for a hot hatch. Kinda ridiculous :P

Nice ride though.

It has got 4wd, which is probably about 100kg. Their probably isn't much or anything lighter with 4wd and about the same size. Going lighter means lots of aluminium, which isn't going to happen at the Golf's price point. Even the MX5 (Miata for the US) is only about 10% aluminium and being lightweight is that car's raison d'etre.

This is going to be turned into a server o' sorts.   Or, maybe I could do what RGHD did.

Watcha serverin'? I'm hoping my stepdad wasn't talking out his anus when he said a uni in our state is doing a tech sale where there might be stuff like OptiPlex 760/780 DFFs and such. It'd be super nice to replace my A64 X2 4600+ with at least an E7400 for my Plex server.
