Intel $5,000 Extreme Tech Upgrade - Anthony

I think the consensus is that for an adult, the worst that can happen is eye strain, which is a temporary condition. For children, it may be detrimental to development before a certain age (as the 3DS' 3D effect was found to be, I believe before age 7).

This.  However, for full on VR the recommended age is 12 according to Sony and 13 according to Oculus.  My Quest gives me eye strain after more than 45 minutes of gameplay, but I take it off and rest my eyes for a few minutes and then I am ready to go again.

As for the furry stuff:

1) It isn't any of our damn business. Kink shaming is bad!

2) What consenting adults do is generally fine.

I love the red panda plush!

Wow, two days of content in a row sponsored by Intel, and confirmation in the live stream that another one will be, in addition to the rest of the series being sponsored by Intel.

Are they just throwing money at the problem?

Linus is negging Intel 😂

when you need sponsors to pay, grabbing for people like intel with big pockets works well.

notice they almost had nothing nice to say about the 10600k

You're right. My new main gaming PC is definitely not a Core i7 6700K, and it's not the VR rig, either...

@GabenJr

Hi Anthony!

The USB thingy you showed in the video... could you please elaborate?

All I got was that you are using USB PSUs instead of their power bricks(?). Watched the short bit multiple times, maybe I missed something.

Yeah, so you can basically just get a multi-port USB charger and plug your 5V 0.5-1.5A electronics into it. So I've got two HDMI switches, a Philips Hue bridge, the OSSC, a Super Nt, Genesis Mini, Raspberry Pi 3, Google Home Mini, and probably other stuff that can all just be powered off a single charger. All you need for devices that don't have a USB port is a barrel plug cable (and adapter to whatever size plug you need if it's not 5.5x2.1mm). I've got a few of these and an Anker PowerPort 10 in my Amazon cart for use in the new setup . Reduces the number of wall plugs from "fill a surge protector" down to 1, and you only have one AC-DC converter to worry about as far as power efficiency goes.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and cables exist for things like charging a 3DS and a WiiU Tablet Controller via USB as well.

This was wonderfully reasonable, no RGB, the case with mesh instead of glass front, going with soundbar because setting up speakers would be its own project...

I have to say there's a bit too much stuff imo, I'd suggest some furniture to keep some of those things in.

Thought about it, I had two more floating shelves planned for installation but I also originally planned on a 65" TV - so those plans went out the window.

Okay! Now I get it.

totally get it:

Kind of started doing the same because of those idiotic oversized USB chargers and external HDD PSUs (second picture is my Pi 4 server with 2x 8TB drives).

Because of the late Amazon Prime Day this year I haven't found my perfect USB "hub" yet.

I'm waiting for the Prime Black Cyber whatever day this year will bring us.

Probably going for Anker too. I don't know how far I trust some of the No-Name Chinese companies.

First thing I thought when I finished watching this video was wow way too much stuff for so small a place. 😄

It felt suffocating to me just watching but that's just me. You got to do what makes you happy. 😁

Next thing I was thinking was throw the stuffed animals away.

The last thing I thought was man I wish I could get a job where $5000.00 of free tech was a thing.

I'm so jealous. 😄

I loved this video, thanks for sharing Anthony! I hope you managed to get your desk set back up ok.

I've love to do some VR and I do think it would be a great workout, but I can't afford a decent computer let alone a headset!

@GabenJr that is a brave admission there and I know how you must feel.  I was thin once... a long time ago then I turned 31 and stopped working out.  Went from 145 to 205 over ten years.   Then clawed my way back to 168....and right back to 175 now.  The hardest part about so much of cardio is, it is just so, so, SOOOO BOORRING.    FWIW what finally did it for me... sort of... at about the same age as you are now.  (I think you revelaed your age once right)  More strength training.  As well as following the high protein program of diet and exercise in a peer reviewed published scientific paper I found.  For me 100g of protein /day 1350 cal  150 minutes of cardio and 60min of strength.  Each broken in to half hour chunks.    (Not medical advice, consult your doctor, may cause the growth of an extra head.)

That said been plateaued out at 175 +/-3 lbs :) and ~35% fat :(.

The most surprising part of this video tech wise was that at least one of those Super Nintendo's wasn't some sleeper Ryzen based gaming build or something.

That whole area is very expensive to live in.  And hey, perhaps he is trying to live economically to be able to save up and afford to purchase a home at some point.  The place doesn't seem all that small, since we are only really seeing the living room area.  I just think Anthony has a load of stuff.

And I am pretty sure LMG likely pays its employees really well.  I just get the feeling Linus and Yvonne understand how much the people who work for them contribute to the success of their business.

@GabenJr - super excited to see this video! I'm a personal trainer in my day job. Though I like all the LMG players, Anthony is my favorite.

Very proud of you to take these steps! Get ready to sweat it out during some Beat Saber.

If you'd like help, even just to bounce some ideas around, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm pretty easy to find.

It made my day when i saw Anthony shine up with happiness : ) He really needed that sick upgrade, i doubt he will forget it anytime soon.

It was refreshing to see such a large company invest so much money into the right people at the right channel. How many people of the LTT group will be taking part of this generous cooperation with Intel? Can i expect to see my favorite Luke Lafreniere take part in one of your future 5000$ promotion videos?

Thank you for a great video! I am looking forward to see more upgrade videos focused on other stuff than computers on your channel. As professionals, i am sure you will not let this affect your future opinions about Intel. The last thing consumers want to see on LTT is a company bias.

I think it would be good for LTT. Large communities of furries may flock to LTT videos just because there is a confirmed furry on the channel.
