Job thread thing. What job do you have/ what are you studying.

I'm a 22 year old fresh out of college dude, currently working as the only IT guy in a company. I have all the freedom in the world, sadly it's only 20 hours every week, it pays the bills but thats about it.

What are you doing right now? Working, studying or maybe trying to make your way through high-school?

Trying to find something that I don't hate and that pays the bills for a year before uni, hopefully I can get something more enjoyable than grocery store work

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

I'm the IT guy at a brokerage firm. I mostly just do Active Directory and monitor logs while shitposting on Reddit all day. Sometimes I have to set up a new hire with their triple monitor setup or redo all the cabling in the office (we just upgraded to 10GB ethernet so I got to replace and rewire all of it), but for the most part, as long as I don't get lazy, it's pretty smooth sailing.

Currently studying for my Network+ and CCNA because reasons.

I work in the IT department for a medium sized business as a net admin. In the middle of some projects but it's generally boring most of the time and the pay is a little below average (but decent enough for the area I suppose).

I work as a mobile electronics installer/manager. Basically my job is installing remote starts, alarms, video screens, aftermarket stereos, custom building interior pieces and things like that. Been doing it for about 20 years now. Pays good for a job that didnt technically require aftermarket schooling.

I am a student. My dream job is state executioner whose duty is to chop off heads of criminals, undesirables, and enemy of states. I just wish states like Texas can turn the death penalty up a notch to make this a viable full time career.

Studying computer science.

College wasn't for me, but I was working towards a degree in Management Information Systems.

Fast forward to today, I am now a 911 dispatcher as my main job.  40 hours a week, salary, amazing benefits.  (I don't have to pay for any insurance, including life insurance).  It's been fun also.  I've been enjoying it.

I have a part time job that I work some weekends when they need it at the local gun store also, I only do that to get the discount on guns and ammo, since it's one of my main hobbies.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

Plan to get my HAM cert this year (if other stuff stop eating up my study time) and probably get a Red Hat cert done as well.  Along with keeping my Sec+ cert maintained too.

I work at Walmart as a Merchandizing Associate on weekends and Fulfillment Associate weekdays after school. I'm studying Entrepreneurship & Marketing, Animation & Game design, and plan on starting my own Tech company with a grant from the ?? government, if that doesn't work out I'm not exactly sure what job to persue after school. Probably something in game design (my back-up job).

I work at panera Bread, just started three weeks ago. I start college in January. I'll be studying networking.

Three years ago I was set on being a welder, a year ago I wanted to be a mechanic, and now I think I'll stick with computers as a job. I guess I'm well rounded. I've taken every fabrication and welding/metal manufacturing/engine class at my high school, and all the computer classes at high school, and taken all the networking classes at secondary school. While at my secondary school, I got the highest scores for the NOCTI. I hope this background helps for a job, though I doubt it will.

Going back this winter to finish my political science major (21 credits remaining). Aiming to do a master's in public administration.

Prob gonna get called granpa for being 30 next spring.

Had an epiphany when I was denied a promotion (in security) despite being told later I aced the interview. $20.75 and generous benefits would have kept me in the field, not $18.50 and nearly no benefits.

should i be ashamed of now also working on a game that is exactly porn but will actually pay? Prolly not cuz it’s not hard & will pay well.

2 years tier 2 support specialist at a casino in oklahoma.

basically this:

There is no enemy. The foe on the battlefield is merely the manifestation of that which we must overcome. The doubt, and fear, and despair. Every battle is fought within. Conquer the battlefield that lies inside you, and the enemy disappears like the illusion it is.
