The replacement for gasoline - nanoFlowcell

ahhming

At Geneva motor show nanoFlowcell premier  the Quant F,
this car has 800 kilometers of range and 1090 hp. It run through a two-speed transmission. Electric motors are hung at all four wheels, but the two up front can be disengaged when not needed.
more importantly is the source that is powering this beast, NanoFlowcell.

ABOUT NanoFlowecell

quante-sportlimousineteaser-0.jpg
according to the video, there are 2 liquid (negative ionic liquid & positive) ionic liquid which can be refill within 5 minutes and when combine it discharge energy with 735V, 92A which is then transfer to a capacitor - "supercap"

This technology not only powers cars but, locomotive, aircraft ,commercial vehicles , marine vehicles and even home

The Liechtenstein company says that that exterior is 100-percent road legal, but the interior needs a few touches before it's ready. Series production is the goal, with crash tests eventually planned for Germany and the US. We'll see it in a few weeks on the Geneva show floor.

concept cars are nice and all, but the thing that can be made for the mass market is what will win the future... like that 30k$ tesla soon

hopefully this cell thing makes it into one of the mass market electric cars one day

Basically a battery but based on ionic solutions? Pretty cool.

Thats nice and all, but it will never replace a gasoline vehicle completely.

While electric, hydrogen, and other power source vehicles are the future it will be some time before the combustion engine is completely replaced. I think the next step is to adapt current combustion engines to a new synthetic fuel source (there was an article on this a while ago of a new synthetic drop-in replacement for gasoline).

This is one of those technologies I heard about a few years ago and hoped would gain some traction. If the claims made so far are true, I think the three key factors for this technology to gain widespread support will be how expensive it is (this includes upfront price, maintenance, and overall longevity of the parts), how safe the liquid will be in a car crash, and how cheap the recharging stations will be to make and keep fueled.

With this all in mind, though, I inherently distrust tech companies that feel the need to gloss up and over-hype their product with dramatic batman-esque music and cinematics...makes me think they're overselling a product that can't live up to what they promise. I appreciate a much more matter-of-fact style of promotion..."This is what our product does. We think it's great and we know if you give it a chance you will too."

Lichtenstein!

Always trust a company that doesn't pay tax - it means they can spend the extra money on R&D :)

This does looks like a serious alternative to gasoline. 700 volts at 90 amps? holy fuck that's a lot of power. Future of cars looking a whole lot brighter if this takes off.

This is what I think of Pre-Ordering video games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp98SH3vW2Y

That's 67.62kW of power it's capable of generating... That's a lot

I'll be impressed when that kind of tech comes in sub $15k cars. Until then...

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

so its a battery that you have to charge AND fill up with fuel. Its cool and all, but i dont see this catching on anytime soon. This is a proof of concept and will likely be nothing more because of how expensive it is.

Yeah, the roar of the engines as they kill the environment and ruin your lungs.... So awesome!

I wonder what they're using in the actual battery to generate that much energy.

So what is the byproduct of this ionic fuel?

That was my question too, Is there any fluid leftover from the reaction and if so can it be re-ionized?  What is the cost of producing this fluid in the first place? and is it dangerous to the environment like arsenic etc?

And I never will. This environment is ultimately doomed no matter what we do.

Unfortunately even if we do get a massive boost in hybrid / electric stuff or an alternative fuel source, so much of the worlds economy relies on oil that I don't think gas will just be replaced like that.
