Eh, most people are being pretty civil about it and actually giving pretty constructive criticism.
Do you have any idea how much money large companies spend on focus groups & testing whenever they even slightly alter a company logo? I don't, but I'm sure it's a lot

 

Edit: I think the distinctive orange logo and orange theme of LTT has been part of the channel for so long that any deviation from it in terms of colour scheme will be a shock to the audience.

The New logo looks really nice, however I'm not a fan of the new banner, it looks really basic and something that a small shitty channel made when they discovered Photoshop.

that was a twitter banner, the alignment makes sense so the avatar doesn't cover it in mobile.

That new logo is too "modern" and "hipster."

 

There was nothing wrong with the old logo & it's instantly recognizable. Plain background with the 3 initials of the company in very legible font.

This new one is too complex.

That show how hard it is to design a good logo. I am sure they are doing their best, but the spacing and ratio of elements in that logo just make it looks very busy despite there are not many things in it.

 

The banner, though, is fine for its style. If that represent what LMG is going to be. (But it reminds me of lifeinvader HQ in GTA V.)

Loving the new logo, hating the banner 

 

This new logo is instantly recognizable. Has a nice tech feel to it, resembling a cross-hatch of motherboard traces. The skewing, while radical, I think works. It has a bonus of serving its purpose both as an icon, and a readable (well, not necessarily ideally legible like the precious one) logotype.

But it's not without flaws.

 

First of all, it's not just a "logo". It's a variation of it created for the purpose of a social media profile pic.

 

The actual logo should have 3 colors at most, a monocromatic version with no colors at all (thinner lines separating the overlaps), and a safe area.

 

The colors as they are now don't work in my opinion. I never liked the combination of orange and purple, makes me think of default gradients in Photoshop. Try with some light blue, maybe blue-greenish. Or follow the previous suggestions in this thread.

 

As for the banner... Yeah, kind of looks like an Adobe illustrator template straight from freepik.com. Or Canva, as someone mentioned. The hexagons are a total mess, and give the impression of an afterthought, as if someone wanted to add an explicit "tech" related element. Not a big fan of the text area with the white background. The design cannot "breathe", feels confined. Just give it white text on the colorful background. And not as bold & big, just big enough for mobile. It's not a roadside billboard. A row of some tasteful icons would make a nice addition instead - maybe borrow the ones from the LTX shirt design?

Also, please keep two things in mind:

 

1. The public opinion always hates rebrandings, because they will judge the aesthetics of the design, and they are sentimental towards the previous branding

 

2. In graphic design aesthetics don't matter as much as you'd think they do. Function is the most important aspect. You may not like the look of things, at least not initially, but you're going to appreciate it subconsciously. Good design will manipulate you, also subconsciously.

I don't think its a good logo. Its hard to read as letters. Its also not great that you can trace a swastika in it.
