Porn Pass (age verification in the UK)

Watch hentai on anime watching websites.

Those would require the passcode too, or at least so I would assume.

1 minute ago, Jtalk4456 said:

And instead of creating a "porn pass" just use a drivers licence that has your age on it, as they all do. Make a simple verification software that you put in your DL and it determines if you are of age or not based on dl record.

That would identify you.

According to the suggestion,  sites are individually responsible for allowing accessing only with the pass code or some other form of verification.

yeah that's not going to work. but we'll see. glad we're not forced into the same laws as the UK on this prison island.

wonder if they had to implement this because of Prince George and they must protect his innocence until he turns 18 where he can be like the red one.

No again you didn;t read the article. there is no context here, it is purely the already illegal offering of age restricted content to minors.

You are right, I didn't read the article, but based off of what you have said so far, I'm pretty sure that I can understand your argument and thus am able to rip it apart and tear it to shreds.. So... if the government DOESNT know anything, how will this even work? who gives out these passes? the government? they then know your identity and that you are signed up for this program, they can then link that to everything else they have on you, I don't think you understand what reading between the lines means, let alone NOT TRUSTING THE GOVERNMENT TO NOT FUCK YOU, also isn't this the job of a parent? NOT THE STATE!? On top of that, here's some more info they can extrapolate (that's the thing you are failing to do right now) Now they know exactly what you are searching as well, whether you are in the program or not, they have to check whether or not you are signed up for the porn pass, and also whether the site you are going to needs a porn pass to be accessed, from that they can link your internet history to your identity.

Not sure you understand censorship.

I absolutely do, Requiring someone to be "qualified" to view something is censorship... sometimes the "qualified" people exist, and sometimes no one is qualified, its still the same.

no, what's moronic here is not understand how technology is changing the world and understanding that it isn't ALL good.  Don't put  your head in the sand.

I do understand that not all technology is good, but what makes a piece of technology good or bad is how its used, IP whitelisting/blacklisting can be used very badly like this, or it can be used to stop internet based attacks like DoSing by blacklisting the IP doing the attack from even touching the server, reducing the attacks effectiveness, which is very good.

You are an absolute fool if you think that a government will implement this in a way that's not trackable, why waste money running a census when you can just harvest the data off of anyone in the country that uses the internet? also, what power? THE POWER TO PREVENT YOU FROM VIEWING CONTENT THEY FIND OBJECTIONABLE!

Apparently, it's true! It's not enforceable, but it's there!

17 states also still have sodomy laws on the books (with 13 banning it entirely), but that's also not enforceable because of Lawrence v Texas (and because who is going to listen to the government while doing it)

good luck hiding it? dude that's the easiest part. minimize it to tray, close when done. Don't have an icon on the machine, you can even uninstall reinstall torrent client as needed with no trace. As for porn storage, I went into the C under program files and created a folder called Program Files 69. That was a joke for myself, obviously porn, but no one looks in the program files, so no biggie. Also it was embedded in a list of folders labeled Program Files ## 1-100 so it didn't even stand out if you got that far

Quote

Those would require the passcode too, or at least so I would assume.

As I said:

Quote

Also what sites would get this? Would twitter tumblr reddit and facebook be blocked? They can all contain porn

If the IT department at my high school knew to block kongregate and addicting games.com, but didn't think to block games.com, that means they will predictably look for common sites that fit the description. Do you think they know all of the smaller websites where you can watch anime and "offbrand" anime, not to even consider the wealth of Ecchi anime

https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/tags/ecchi (9171 results)

The goverment won't catch all of these small sites that don't sound or look like porn

Quote

That would identify you.

Again as I said:

Quote

the gov would have to make the software with access to a database of ONLY DL's and bdays, unless they want to anger the privacy sensitive public, and it could store no data.

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

From the Wikipedia posted a lil bit ago:

Quote

The Obscene Device Law is a Texas statute prohibiting the sale of sex toys. The law was introduced in 1973, and was last updated in 2003. While the law technically remains in effect, in 2008 a U.S. District Judge released a report declaring it to be "facially unconstitutional and unenforceable".
