If you have a complaint, concern or question about any moderator action that has been taken against you, please send a PM to me, @Whiskers and/or the moderator in question, and we will gladly discuss it. All complaints about moderation that I have been made aware of have either been completely unfounded or the result of misunderstandings or miscommunication, but if there was a case of moderator abuse then we would consider that to be a serious problem, and deal with it accordingly.   C

One has to be proactive, not reactive, to ensure the safety of one's data so backup your data! And RAID is NOT a backup!

Yup, lots of places have issues, and even here we can't moderate perfectly as we're all humans. So if a mistake is done about moderation, the admins can be contacted.

 

Decisions have been reversed before ;)

That hasn't always been my experience in the past (I'm referring to all forums in general).

 

If you want a good laugh, I'm a moderator on a forum but the only post I ever moderated was one of mine. The only reason I'm on that forum was the forum owner really wanted me their because of my views on backups. I couldn't get into the forum because of an unsolvable CAPTCHA (I suspect that is the reason why activity and membership on that forum is so abysmally low). So the owener made me and another person mods with full moderating privileges just to get us onto the forum.

 

Once, he emailed me, asking me to post something on the forum to make sure posts were going through so I posted something absurdly simple, like "Test Post" in the title and with something similar in the body of the post. A while later, someone commented on why that post was there so I just quietly removed it. i also once rejected a couple of new poster's posts that were obvious spam.

 

In short, I'm a mod; big fat hairy deal. ? And there people who question my humanity.
