The 5.2 V10 is 84.5mm bore, 92.8mm stroke, with a 90mm cylinder spacing shared with the Audi V10 on which it is based. Alloy block, naturally aspirated.

 

Both the 2.0 and 2.5 TFSI are 82.5x98.2mm bore and stroke, with 88mm cylinder spacing. Both are cast iron block and forced induction using BorgWarner turbos that are very similar.

 

 

The 2.5 TFSI is not derived from either the Lamborghini (5.0 indirect injection) or Audi/Lamborghini (5.2 direct injection) engines; it's derived from the US/MENA market N/A 2.5 5 cylinder EA855 which was discontinued in about 2015, crossed with the EA888 2.0 4 cylinder petrol. Albeit with lots of RS modifications...

This actually made the news this morning. Talking about the newly mandatory "halo" saved his life. I'm assuming from what I could see that it's basically the F1 version of a partial roll cage in front of the drivers head?

It goes beyond tubular roll cages, it's a solid titanium frame (7kg) that surrounds the open portion of the survival cell and bolts to the carbon tub in 3 positions. A carbon fibre fairing of the constructors choosing then goes around it. It's the same underlying structure that IndyCar adopted (though they went with aeroscreen instead of fairing).

 

 

In most cases where halo has come into play, the titanium is almost always structurally intact.

I know I complained about it in the past but it’s pretty amazing how much safety one little bar added. 
 

also titanium is so strong. iirc if you get a titanium ring; it actually causes problems if you have a medical emergency of some sort with your hands, and the ring needs to be cut off. It’s very very difficult to cut, I think they usually have to use a special tool.

It's worth noting that per volume Titanium isn't actually harder than steel, but it's much harder per mass which is why it's so prized in aerospace and lightweight applications. I can also vouch for the fact that titanium rings can be removed with standard ring cutters as I had exactly this happen to me when I was hospitalised- it's generally things like tungsten carbide they need to use special tools for.
