This is with the US S50, shorty headers, and 3" (resonated) Active exhaust. I know somewhere I have a video of the UUC/Corsa exhaust on a dyno but can't find it.

more intake noise than exhaust, but S54 with CSL airbox and supersprint headers into dual 2.5" into single 3":

and because OMG CSL intake, with STOCK E36 M3 muffler for Laguna's annoying 90dB limits. This choked the engine to the tune of 30whp. You are only hearing induction noise, no exhaust.

All seasons are why chains exist.

 

Studded snow tires are the best thing for snow, if your state allows them on the roads (CO sure did, and exempts you from the chain signs and fines if you have actual snow tires).

 

I miss my Subaru + Studded Snows. So much fun to bomb around in fresh snow, rallying past all the stuck brodozers. Stiffer rear sway bar also made the car properly oversteer in snow even with no horsepower to speak of....that was fun until I blew up the center diff hooning a bit too much.

 

tl;dr snow is fun with the right tires.

I've driven in snow where even good snow tires aren't always enough. Though I can't see studs helping in snow, only ice. Might just be me though.

Yep, only ice. Doesn't make much difference on snow, but generally studded tires have taller sipes and tread blocks.

Snow tires are also often softer at the tread to gain some additional traction.

I’ve been using Goodyear’s Tripletred and Weather Ready Assurance all season tires. The only ones I know of rated for ice. Weather Ready are the best I’ve owned. There was a lot of roadhouse with the Tripletred series.

it's crazy how when it gets to be about 50-60F how much less grip you have compared to 70-80F

 

was cooler today. Took a turn quickly just having a bit of fun after work. actually lost some grip and slid outwards a little bit (nothing major), when I usually don't. 

still rocking all seasons for everyday. continental dws's, only 195's tho. 

 

I love getting to put on the RE-71R's and going to an autocross event. The grip difference from an all season is just completely ridiculous and puts the biggest smile on your face.

they really are. only reason I daily them is in case we get a little snow flurry or slushy roads that we maybe get once every 4 years 

if the car wasn't a daily i'd prob have RE-71's or whatever the fastest thing is at present on it all the time

I call all-seasons "no-seasons". Because they're too compromised to be good at anything in particular. So Ironic, lol. 

 

There are some all-season classified tires that are decent in the dry and wet, but not much beyond that.

i should probably just take the risk and keep a decent summer tire on it. for more smiles. lol

 

the all seasons aren't that great in the rain, nor the cold, and dry leaves much to be desired. I agree with @MEC-777 they are no seasons. even my "good" continental DWS's. (which are supposedly pretty high up there as far as all seasons go)

Yeah I stepped up from a 245/75R16 to a 275/45R22. Obviously the sidewall helped but the tire is great. It’s a hankook... something lol

I think you mean reads low. And I like my gearing. Wish I had a bit more actually but I'm out of wheel well and 3.55s were the lowest option of that year. And I'm sure as hell not lifting my truck. No I need to order those lowering shackles I found on amazon... Oh well.

i knew chains were required in some parts of california, but like that's up in the mountains. in my area, where it pretty much never snows (just gets stupid cold) some people actually just say fuck it and run summers lol.

i actually thought studded tires were illegal in california for some stupid reason I can't think of anymore (like it would destroy roads or something) but turns out they're perfectly fine supposedly. i wonder how bad it would be to just DIY some studdded tires with screws. some russian youtuber did it, but idk the long term effects.

all 3 cars in my household run all seasons (and even the same tire line LMFAO) and honestly even dry one tire seems more sketchy than the other because of sidewall height. like it kinda makes sense tho, since lower sidewalls feel stiffer and less sketchy, but like even though they all run the same tire model, one feels grippier than another.
