Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

So do I, but they are getting harder to obtain and most tire shops can't put 275s on a 10" wide rim, unless they are over the age of 50.

275s fit a 10" wheel no problem...

I can't get 22s underneath very easily without rubbing and the tire starts to look a bit thin with a max tire height of about 29". If I go with a 295/30-22 i only get 3.5" of sidewall. 20" I can do depending on the width of the tire, like 275/40-20.

I don't have anything against 22s as I have them on my 07' and I think they look proportionate on it. However with my '97 they start to look oversized.

Yeah true. Too low profile starts to kinda look weird. That 07 looks really clean though ?

So it's settled then! 20s it is

Ya, I know they do, but for some reason a lot of people have trouble putting a 275/60-15 on 15x10" wheel. Usually the only time they don't, is when those from the "fat tire era" mount them. I had to have a rim replaced because a guy could get tire to bead, so he used an air cannon and bent my rim in the process. They were happy when I told them they only cost ~$70 to replace.

Thank you, it's my laid back casual truck. The only thing done to it is a Volant cold air intake and scoop and I rebuilt the transmission in it after I got a notice from GM about a minor recall on the 04-07 4L60E. It also has a dealership installed GM performance (rebranded Borla) cat-back exhaust, but I wouldn't count that.

lol I guess, I don't know, depends on tire availability. I take the truck to the strip about once or twice a month.

Dang I wish my wheels were only $70... Yeah it was just a joke lol the ones you posted are a pretty solid choice. I've seen them on a few different vehicles and they look pretty good, especially for steelies. Cheap tires too.

The tires are relatively cheap, but they don't last long. Every single tire in that size is an extremely soft compound, even the BFG radial t/a.

I thought about running a true stock car wheel from aero race wheels since they are lighter. The current ones are about 34lbs each where as these are about 21lbs each (and room for larger calipers) a lot less rotating mass.

Stylish. Why are they all soft? Do they only make like summer tires or something?

The only tires that are continuing to be produced in that size are all "performance" oriented tires (outside of drag radials).

Lol ya right now mine are ~65lbs wrapped. So it'd bring it down to ~52lbs wrapped with my current tires.

@FuzzyYellow recommended these to me last year, and honestly. I've been blown away by them. Grip just as well in the wet as the dry, and eliminated wheel spin off the line that I was getting with my Pilot Super Sports. Would absolutely recommend, even though it is an All season

Yeah, it’s pretty crazy how foot they are for an all-season. It helps that it’s a pretty soft compound. The biggest thing I miss about them compared to my p7s is the wet traction. Those things were monsters, even with a 215 wide. Accord felt like it was on rails.

I got some work done on my audi today, I believe I've found out why it's overheating. I removed the radiator and stuff so I could remove some plastic covers to see if the seal to the water pump was bad. I believe that the timing belt is way to loose as it has a lot of play around the water pump pulley, I recorded a clip of it.

It's not supposed to be that loose is it?

Def not supposed to be that loose.

Not sure what’s causing that tho as I’m not familiar with the motor. But good time for you to figure it out and change it i guess

I don't have a good picture right now. I'm going to be getting new wheels and tires for my 97 as they are getting hard to balance and starting to peel on the inside. Does anyone have any ideas on whether I should keep my current wheels, or should I change to something else? If something else, if you wouldn't at all mind, give me some ideas or suggestions.

I think you mean reads low. And I like my gearing. Wish I had a bit more actually but I'm out of wheel well and 3.55s were the lowest option of that year. And I'm sure as hell not lifting my truck. No I need to order those lowering shackles I found on amazon... Oh well.

No, it’ll read high. Smaller diameter = higher rpm for the same speed

also slightly shorter gearing. More acceleration yay

Also itll fit in the wheel wells because it’s smaller.

But I mean we’re talking 275/45R22 -> 275/40R22. Not that big of a diff

Towing in third gear only has me going about 55 at 2k-2100 RPM. I'd prefer to be at 60+. Granted I very rarely tow heavy enough for that to matter, and 4th gear is really long as it is. Really I just wish I had a 5 speed lol (mine is a 4 speed auto).

Nah lol I thought about selling mine and buying a manual (would have been way easier in my case) but I decided to stick with what I got, cause this thing is immaculate, especially compared to other trucks I looked at. Worse problem is loose steering, which I've dealt with worse in every other car/truck I've owned.... Actually that's not true my F150 was pretty tight. It also only had 95k miles when I bought it though.

You're lucky you are gear limited. I am trailer limited. Went 120 and the wheel fell off!

Most trailer tires are only rated to 75 or 85 anyways lol I'm surprised it didn't blow up. Also I don't think my truck will do 120. Nor can I get up to that speed anywhere around here.
