Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I'm seeing small spikes in upload and download in my rainmeter skin. I'll take that as a sign that my isp's techs are working on my connection... I only have one unread book left after the one I'm currently reading..

If it was completely bone stock and in near new condition, I'd say the price would be about right IDK

nah, i think even 40 grand is too much for something that condition. and plus i think these mods usually add to the value.

Sears has sold Craftsman to Stanely, but it looks like Stanely wants to bring at least more of the manufacturing back to the US, so that's good.

Well hopefully Stanely doesn't make the quality worse. :/ Stanely tools are some of the worst imo.

ok 60 grand for a final edition evo x is just flat out INSANE. http://stockton.craigslist.org/cto/5945915390.html

Stanley is just one brand of the mother company who also owns Dewalt, Milwalkee, Proto, MAC, etc.

But I agree that I hope they don't make the quality go down hill. Given the statement about increasing US manufacturing, I'm hoping they are looking to fill the gap between Proto and Stanley; right about where Craftsman was 15-20 years ago.

Eh, just because something is made here doesn't automatically make it better. My Chinese Craftsman screwdrivers have never stripped out on me and they're older than I am, Stanely screwdrivers I bought stripped their first use.

i don't even consider the evo a collectors car. i still think it's an enthusiast's car, just like the subaru sti.

If you selling it to an enthusiast and it's what he is looking for possibly. But for a collector/guy looking to invest it usually is the formula below

car - money takes to make it stock =  Asking price

Project Iridium:   CPU: Intel 4820K   CPU Cooler: Custom Loop  Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition   RAM: Avexir Blitz  Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD and Seagate Barracuda 3TB HDD   GPU: Asus 780 6GB Strix   Case: IN WIN 909   PSU: Corsair RM1000      Project Iridium build log http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/451088-project-iridium-build-log/

One more thing to be added to that.

I had assumed we were talking about other influences other than the obvious which is market depreciation. :P

ugh, I'm so sick of all this final edition bullshit!  The only difference between that and a regular evo is a slightly better tune, and nobody keeps evo's stock anyway so who cares?!!?!?!??!?  so literally the only thing special about the FE is the badge

Maybe they can be like Pagani and make different versions of it for the next 20 years.

honestly im with you on that nobody keeps evos stock anyway. they were meant to be tinkered with. honestly anybody who leaves a new evo stock is just crazy.

I'm not really talking Mitsu, they only have a little markup on it compared to the regular evo (individual dealers may be different) which is fine in my book.  its mostly the people that buy them that annoy me.  There are a ton of posts on the evo forum asking if aftermarket evo parts will work on the FE, stuff like springs, intercoolers, intakes, exhausts, basically everything thats identical.  and then there's this guy trying to sell his for 60k
