Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

holy FUCK i just realized my posts went down by a whopping 800 posts. i'm so mad.

Went to the mining section of the forum. saw people thinking they could make money off of old bitcoin mining hardware.

Almost started crying when I remembered my mining room. 4 Butterfly labs ASIC's, 4 Radeon 6950's. I had gotten on the GPU train before everyone else and made a killing. The ASIC's I also bought early but Butterfly labs was 9 FLIPPING MONTHS late on shipping. So instead of making upwards of a million dollars between me and my dad, we ended up making $48K in profit and lost about $20K when the coins crashed. We cashed out at that point and split the cash. Which part of it went to my car, and then the rest is pretty much being sat on.

But yeah... im driving a corolla. Literally was closer to being a millionaire than most people ever get a chance to. And ill probably never get that kind of opportunity again.

sorry for the sob story lol. please dont feel bad for me, im over it. just felt like sharing.

Qualifying for the Bathurst 12H is underway. Shane Van Gisbergen, a native V8 Supercars star AND somebody who drove a GT3 car at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona last week, just set a new qualifying record for GT3 cars at Mt. Panorama. SVG took the Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S GT3 to the top of the time sheets with a 2:01.591. IN TRAFFIC. An unofficial record but don't see anyone beating it.

Seems like nobody knows about Holset Turbo's...I asked in 2 other forums and still got no answers, but so many people interested in buying them...

Holset itself doesn't show any reaction on my mailing and I don't find any online-shop (even in the US) which sells the whole line-up or at least a big part of it -.-*

I've seen some holsets for sale. Only HX35 and bigger though excluding like one or two hx25/27s.

Holy crap... Shane Van Gisbergen is the ultimate driver-for-hire and is fast in just about anything you stick him in, be it a GT3/GTD car, Porsche Cup, or a V8 Supercar. Allan Simonsen pole shootout after qualifying yesterday where the top 20 cars have a chance to re-qualify with lower fuel and a set of fresh tires of their choice (of brand).

This might be the first year the 650S GT3 has raced around Mt. Panorama, but that didnt stop SVG from bettering his 2:01.591 to a 2:01.286. Rene Rast also jumped to P2 with a 2:01.8 in the new generation R8.

The starting order for this year's race will be:

1. McLaren 650S GT3

2. Audi R8 LMS

3. McLaren 650S GT3

4. Audi R8 LMS

5. McLaren 650S GT3

6. McLaren 650S GT3

7. Bentley Continental GT3

8. Bentley Continental GT3

9. Audi R8 LMS

10. Audi R8 LMS

Also keep an eye out for the GTR GT3, which got pushed down but still in the top 20. It's a new car for 2015 made specifically for Australian competition, though the BOP got adjusted this year and I don't expect it'll rocket away from the other cars like last year where they got extra turbo boost.

Ty. <3 also No they're not. The posts being recalculated is something different. If off topic posts were counted, my post count would have gone up somewhere in the neiborhood of 800 posts, not down by 400. I dont know what they did, and really its not that big of a deal IMO.

if they did count, i would have gone up by nearly 4k posts, not down 800.

On another topic: poly sway bar bushings and new to me Kenwood amp are installed. I greased them, compared with old ones, and then disconnected the negative battery cable, apparently without a ground my engine runs away and overheats.

Are you supposed to grease poly? This old guy that hangs out at my shop says to put them in dry. I personally don't know.

What website can I watch it on?

Race starts in 3 hours UTC+11 (SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6), or 1:15 PM EST. That should be ~12:15 pm CST for you. Radio le mans is once again doing the commentary, with Shea Adams doing the pit lane commentary. Both parties were present during the rolex 24.

There will be two main streams - one via the Bathurst 12 Hours #B12HR website where you can see the international / global feed: http://bathurst12hour.com.au/stream-int

Live timing here (Bathurst upgraded from 3 to 12 timing points, aka the full FIA F1 timing and scoring system, so there is a wealth of data here; what you see is exactly the same data being relayed back to all the teams): http://bathurst12hour.com.au/live-timing

Alternatively NISMO TV will once again be streaming the race on their youtube channel. Judging from the qualifying / practice video Friday, this is most likely also a HD (720P) global stream but with their own show segments and commentary from time to time. On-track action and live-timing should be the same here regardless.

As per usual, r/WEC will also be running the global IRC - drop in here from time to time if you want live race updates from fellow motorsports fans and discussion.
