Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

lol I was grinding a plate bolt shorter here at home and needed to adjust it in the vice grips. I was using the grinding wheel on low speed, bolt never sparked and didn't change color. So I just pushed my thumb against it real hard to nudge it over, ended up embossing my thumb with M6 threads because it was hot but not hot enough to burn. Perfect temp. Now my thumb is a thread gauge.

Got a capped bolt kit for the front of my Celica to replace the one stainless and one rusty bolt that have been on there for like 10 years. No idea why I waited so long to do this, it makes it look a good deal nicer.

I got bit by the wagon bug and it's fucking me up. 

In any case, what should I go for next to replace my Saturn sometime: a Volvo V70 (probably a 98 model) or a Saab 9-5 wagon (whatever's in the area)? I'm pivoting towards the Saab as I like how it looks more, but meh.

Action cameras like this are notorious for underexposure; as specced by the manufacturer, the 'main beam" is equivalent to a road car's high beam. On the 488 GT3 Evo, the endurance package uses a 4,500 lumen LED main beam, in addition to LED apex housings.

 

But even still Spa is one of the most naturally dark circuits due to its layout in a mountain valley, not so different from the Nordschleiffe. They even added in external lighting for this year.

 

The 24h itself was pretty dull with over half the race distance in full wet conditions. There were some scary offs though.

Oh I know they underexpose, my dashcam does the same thing. I've got two 2500 lumen halogen high beams and two roughly 3000 lumen HID low beams, all 4 are lit when high beams are on. My low beams give me about 160-170 degrees side to side visibility and decent down range, the high beams punch down a lot farther.

 

All that light and still, driving high speeds at night is scary. Doing 70 down a straight country road at night is worse than doing 110 down a 3 lane highway in day light. All that being said, I kind of want to hit tail of the dragon at night this summer just because I have these awesome wide headlights that were pretty much MADE for this kind of driving. I've jokingly called them 'togue lights' because of the crazy width. The LED's I added to the markers in the high beam bowls project to the sides and add a little extra curb lighting on the driver side which is nice.

I did a section of the dragon and also moonshiner 28 in the dark years ago on the motorcycle.  All I can say is it was fun for a little while and then your self preservation kicks in and it becomes a very slow and nerve racking experience. I had gone out to get some time lapse photo's of the hydroelectric power plants in the dark, first picture.  The second pic is the bike I was riding that year taken by the Killboy guys as I went riding past.

Nice pictures. I drove it about 4 or 5 times in one day, last one being toward evening. I still want to give it a go at night, but forest critters concern me, had a bear and cubs jay walk on me. Passed a few bikes even on my first and last runs when I wasn't slowed by the group I was with. I was doing about 20 minutes bottom to top, not bad for a car and first timer. It wasn't exceptionally difficult just high intensity for a long period of time.

The worst automotive mistake I have ever made was trading my Rover Vitesse E2 for a Sapphire Cosworth in the late 80s. I still have the engine from that in my Escort so I guess every cloud has a silver lining.

Tough Question. Is The new Hummer EV a truck or a car? I

am arguing for Car because it beats most liquid fuel powered cars in it's price range on the 1/4 mile strip, That includes Hydrogen fuel cell EVs. Not Tesla
