Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I actually like how it looks. I just wish it had a 2 door, long bed option. *Shrug*

Back when I first bought my Mustang, it had locking lugnuts on it, of course the key was nowhere to be found.

I took a socket that was just too small to fit over the lugnut, and ran it over the lug-nut with an air hammer then buzzed the lug-nut off. After that I put the edges of the socket on the jaws of a vise and smacked the lug-nut out of the socket with a hammer and punch. Took maybe 10 min to remove all of the lugnuts.

This experience depleted any faith I had in locking lug-nuts.

Funny enough, in my experience the socket method works much better than the extractors designed to remove locking lugnuts.

Like I said though, if OEMs put rotating sleeves on their kits they would be a lot better.

We need diesel options that are slightly bigger than what we're getting too. So far it's just small ones and large ones.

That would assume diesel takes the place of gas, meaning the majority of the market. I think we both know that’s not happening. That said, if you need to warrant a bigger diesel in a half ton, buy a bigger truck. If you want a smaller diesel in a 3/4 ton, you don’t need a 3/4 ton. As for cars, I just want a diesel golf hatch or rabbit pick up with anti-lag ? (rabbit pick up when? 2022?)

Welllllll what we can't get with HP in a diesel half ton I'd like to make up with more torque. I dunno about you but I like to uh, merge quicker.

We remove them by heating them with an inductive coil to destroy the temper of the steel then while it's still hot hammering on a fluted extractor, they come off just the same as a lug nut then! Actually the soft steel capped lugnuts that Chrysler uses as OEM are harder to remove! The soft steel just grinds off and we usually have to torch the stud right out through the wheel, sometimes damaging the wheel in the process. We had a F150 lugnut snap off the hex portion a couple times too, that's not so fun either, similar situation as the Chrysler capped nut but at least it's harder steel we're working with. If you get it really hot you can usually blow it through with the stud and then use a wood block and sledge hammer to beat the wheel off while the steel slag is still soft.

My mirrors are actually turned all the way out 100% of the time.

A. Because I like them further out than most people i know... mostly because I prefer it. I don’t want to stare at my quarter panel, I want to see what’s next to me

B. In a Miata and at my height and position, this just so happens to be as far outwards as the mirrors can go

C... since the car is so narrow and trucks are wide...and I’m below them, their lights line up in that perfect way to be aimed directly at the mirrors which then proceed to reflect all of it  directly into my and my passengers face. One of my little sisters who likes to ride in my car sometimes hates to ride in it at night due to this. And there’s nothing I can do :(

so yeah miatas... not good night time cars  lol

Believe it or not, when I put coilovers in the accord, there was a noticeable difference in how much other headlights blinded me. ?

RAM’s eco diesel makes 420 lb ft. That’s better than the hemi, which I think is he only V8 option. It probably gets 30 or 40% better gas mileage also. I don’t know what Chevy’s diesel makes, not what the Ranger’s diesel is suppose to make.

I'm really loving my Lexus LS430 Ultra Luxury that I bought last year. I wasn't even looking at buying Lexus. I was honestly looking at buying an S Class if I went full luxury or an E39 540i with a manual if I went the fun sports sedan route. This car just kind of popped up because a family friend was selling it and really wanted it gone. I could not pass up the price. I was going to flip it and even now with the repairs I have done, I could sell it and make a handsome profit but I've fallen in love with the car.

It is just so comfortable and has so many features that are impressive for '04. At 6.5ish 0-60 it isn't that fast but for a two ton car, that V8 moves the car pretty well. Considering it's a full size luxury sedan with a ton of features, that isn't that bad. When you gun it, you feel like you have plenty of power. And it handles surprisingly well for being a boat. I leave it in sport mode all the time since it tightens the handling and I want to be able to dodge dear and animals better. I live in the country so it isn't uncommon to have to break three times for animals when I run out lol.

This car has really turned me onto Lexus. What a brand. I can't believe they make such amazing luxury cars but they are extremely reliable. They put BMW and Mercedes to shame when it comes to reliability and I love both those brand. I actually used to own a 190D back in the day.

I still really want the 540i and now that I have a super reliable luxury car, I think the BMW is even more appealing. It won't be as big of a deal if it breaks now that I have a good daily car. Originally I was thinking if I bought the 540i as a primary, I would need to buy a Civic or something as a backup but now I think the Lexus will be my primary and BMW will be my fun car.

I honestly think the LS430 is one of the best values for those looking to get into a luxury car for under $10k USD. You can get so much car. It even has some modern features like adaptive cruise, breaking for things in the road, and proximity door unlocking/keyless start. On a 2000-2006 car that is pretty impressive. You can get into one of these for $5-10k depending on how pristine you want it and which package/options it has.

But you know what. Despite really wanting a fun sports sedan with a manual and being love with the e39, the Mercedes SL55 AMG is really calling to me as a fun weekend car. For the price, it is really hard to beat that performance. And just look at that hard top action. Damn. The car is sexy and fast. Plus, from what I understand, it is super easy to upgrade the supercharger pulley and get some extra HP

I'm really thinking that will be the next car I purchase. Definitely not now during the winter. I'm hoping this upcoming summer I can pick one up. I just can't stop thinking about it.
