Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

i think what will makes ppl angry is they are the first to go with a subscription model like that. and more manufacturers may follow afterwards.

then what do you know? it's impossible to own a car now!

soon will come the world of self-driving machines that just show up when you're ready to leave in the morning and disappear when you get home.

It wont happen with every manufacturer and its even less likely to be for every single car, and theres still gonna be stuff from now that will be available to buy used

Jeez, I'm glad my car is only a 4 Cylinder. Thise NGK laser Iridium spark plugs are expensive. Need to do some shopping around as Napa tends to be overpriced for parts.

Still, much better to doing a timing belt service on a similar schedule with my old Volvo, so perhaps I shouldn't complain too much.

do shop around for spark plugs. you can often find them pretty cheap, even expensive iridium ones.

that said... i use copper plugs with my miata since im gonna pull them out and look at them all the time anyways... lol

From what research suggest, copper is better with modified or turbo engines (what many Miatas will probably undergo) anyway.

I'll stick to OE here. For the daily commuter, a minimum of time under the hood is preferred. That's why I went with the manual Mazda 3i SV in the first place, so that sticking with the maintenance schedule doesn't eat my wallet nor time. The fact that there's next to no luxury features to break (lacking even power locks) is a bonus. :P

The 2.0L ecoboost is the best ecoboost.

It's the only one with a closed-deck:

So I assume a closed deck has no gap between the block and the cylinder walls?

Honestly for a daily commuter, it should have some luxury features to make the ride a bit more bearable/comfortable. I would hate to drive a car that constantly annoys me with almost no features on it.

If I was sitting in heavy traffic all the time, then some luxury might be nice...

Just be lucky you don't live in the bay. Commutes from the bay to the valley take at least 2 hours at minimum, because the freeway systems suck, it's not able to handle all the traffic during rush hour. but i think at the least some power windows and remote entry and a radio and a/c should be enough to get by.

Anyone have any idea what the hell this thing is? This was parked on the street just outside my house. It looks like a kit car judging by the creases, fit and finish, but I can't find out anything about it anywhere online. Not sure why it has an upside-down Infiniti badge on it either.

rockauto does charge for shipping. check ebay (new), autozone, oreilly, everything.

just find the best deal lol

at least that's what i do for everything lol. google shopping is useful sometimes too as long as you have model #'s.. you can sort by lowest price
