EA offers exclusive effects for pre-order on NFS: Payback

When it comes to pre-ordering a game, most of them will offer unique weapons or certain essential items at the start of the game. Gaming publisher EA (Electronic Arts) on the other hand, for their game Need For Speed: Payback, went on a different route and added exclusive graphic effects, that will not be available on the release version of the game. The exclusive graphic effect as they name it, is called

Exclusive Platinum Blue Tire Smoke***

What this does is, for customer who pre-orders this game, their cars will create blue tire smoke instead of the basic white tire smoke. The pre-order doesn't just end with blue smoke, it also comes with their Platinum car pack that includes

    Now this is where that *** comes into play. The exclusive Platinum Blue Tire Smoke is only available on the vehicles that's part of the Platinum car pack. So in other words, only those vehicles in the quote above will have the exclusive graphic effects. Will anyone pre-order just for having something this exclusive? Well the exclusive feature don't add any more to the original price of the game, it's still at $60 US dollars or about $100 Australian.

The NFS lin up died when Hot Pursuit came out. They are all horrible now.

I know we all like to hate on EA but I'm pretty sure this is basically cosmetic not that different from car skins, paint buckets, gun colors, etc. Standard practice that we all deem acceptable as micro-transactions or bonuses

Ideally but would you rather they'd lock away actual game content like tracks or cars instead?

 

I'll take the peasant smoke instead of the peasant cars.

Not that, The NFS games in terms of physics and overall the quality of content is trash in my opinion. I love cars, and games with them but NFS is the one I never got into.

I'm not sure but I think the simple physics compared to simulation physics made it appeal to more people.
