DX 12's multi GPU would make semi powerful APUs a boost in FPS even if you have some moster of a card.

I really only paid any attention to Kaviri and it says 240 and 250.  I took a several year break from actually following hardware.

Kaveri launch documentation stated that the APUs support Radeon R7 series cards with DDR3 memory under Windows 7, Windows 8 and Linux operating systems. Current list of confirmed working cards includes Radeon R7 240 and R7 250 GPUs, either with DDR3 or GDDR5 memory. Be aware that the Sapphire R7 250 Ultimate card is based on a different graphics core than other R7 250 products, and it is not supported. AMD R7 250X cards are rebranded HD 77xxx series cards, and they do not support dual graphics mode with the Kaveri A6 Series, A8 Series and A10 Series APUs. Radeon R7 260X is not supported either.

 

I'm just hoping that the dual graphics wouldn't be with a R9 instead of RX.  After all they haven't had that combination yet.

Absolutely, but only in DX12 titles that support the multi GPU functions.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

Hmmm... might be a good buy for me down the road. I have a POS Dell laptop from 2009 right now and I'm definitely in the market for a new, not so expensive light gaming laptop. Can't wait to see what SKU's AMD has with ZEN. Will be my first AMD rig. :)

Really liked seeing his build series for that silent machine.  Liked the backup button one also.  Unfortunately the software he uses for the file sync doesn't work with my phone.  Really wanted to automate copying my pictures to my computer since 97.5% of the time that's the only reason I plugged the phone into the computer anyway.

Wait wouldn't a 460 only be at a 370's performance based on the 480 only being one tier higher? If so is that a really big deal, or am I confused since I thought intel had an igpu that beat a 750ti which though behind a 370 for sure it isn't that far behind

I'd suggest you to buy an RX 470 instead. If you already have Ivy Bridge or better, there is no point in buying this APU. Trust me.

i think they learnt from intel. Who is hugely successful in the OEM space, simply because the wast wast wast wast majority, actually closer to 90% of all sold Intel consumer products are in fact APUs.
