Asus unveiled the GTX 1070 Dual (not dual GPU)

So, recently, Asus was coming up with some great X99 motherboards which not only have great features but they also look great. Now, they tried the similar design but on a graphics card. And theh came up with the gorgeus GTX 1070 Dual. I'll let you look the card for a moment.

Doesn't this card look great? It will be great in any white build while delivering stunning performance. Asus nailed it.

Although it only has a single 8-pin connector so OC'ing might not be the best.

 

In my opinion, this card is beatuiful. If I had the money I'd buy this without any thinking.

Doesn't seem to have a backplate on a GPU which will retail at about £450 yea no thanks ASUS.

A dual GPU 1070 would be awesome though, and it would likely fill the market bracket between the 1070 and 1080.

At the current market it would cost more than a single 1080 and also offer better pref (in games with ANY SLI scaling.)

ARES is just ASUS' branding of was-already-a-thing dual GPU Radeon cards.

 

MARS is the branding of their own dual GPU tier-below-Nvidia's-flagship card that wasn't going to exist until ASUS decided it would. (MARS GTX 760 for example)

 

Hence, a MARS would create a dual GPU Nvidia card that otherwise won't be a thing, but an ARES would just be "another" dual GPU Radeon card that someone else would be making regardless.

Damn, I miss Asus making dual gpu lower end cards. I think they made the dual 460. Id buy a dual 1070 from them.

Which is funny considering that the Strix 970 had only two fans, and was completely fucking hideous.

I need a damn rx490 about right now, since I don't foresee the 1070 being sold for MSRP (379) anytime soon and I refuse to pay 450+.

 

This card was misleading, would have had potential as a dual 1070. Shroud looks like a (failed) attempt at a cheapo knockoff of the HOF line
