No paid DLC plans for Need for Speed, runs at 30fps on PS4 and Xbox One

You_are_a_cunt

need_for_speed_new_1.jpg

According to EA there are currently “no plans for any paid DLC,” and a series of free content updates are in the works. And, there will be no micro-transactions.

Also of note, the game will run at 30fps on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

“For any driving game a steady frame rate is incredibly important, and with Need for Speed we’re delivering super high production values when it comes to both visuals and sound,” reads the FAQ. “We always look to maximize the game technology with the platform technology for the experience we’re building, which is why the game will run at 30fps on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

My thoughts:

It's very unlike EA to not include micro transactions and paid DLC in their games. A new era for them, perhaps? If so, they've started on the right path. Let's just hope it's not an anomaly.

While I was somewhat disappointed by the PC version's delay, it might turn out to be for the best, like it did for GTA V. We'll just have to wait and see.

Both myself and my dad are actually waiting for this to pop up, since we're both pretty big NFS fans ever since NFS Porsche (the one released in 2000)

EA doesn't need micro transactions on it when they have FIFA

If they do a TF2/GTA V with this new NFS reboot it might be something I'll check out

The past few NFS games were, indeed, quite disappointing. I find myself going back to Undercover, Carbon and even Underground 2

I'm almost convinced they're telling the truth, yet bending it in some way for their own advantage :-/

But maybe I'm just too paranoid.

Wait for it to have battlelog on pc.

also, 30fps is unexcusable. lower those freaking rain effects, it's a racing game, it shouldn't be that heavy,

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Carbon was my childhood.

SHIFT was fun, but that's about it unfortunately. Hot Pursuit was boring and overrated. Underground was fun IMO.

EDIT: I mean Underground

30fps for a racing game, that is absolutely inexcusable.

Hmm?? I don't know if they don't "care" about it. I'm not sure if they've ever had the opportunity to experience higher than 30 fps on their consoles.

If they cared about it, they'd go to PC or a Wii U.

You don't necessarily know what to care about if you've never experienced it. Not everything is as biological as boobs.

The game looks impressive, but 30FPS is never acceptable to me, especially not in a racing game. Underground 2 ran at 60 on all platforms, FFS!

And no paid DLC. What?

The only problem is there's still always-on DRM. You'd think they would have learned from SimCity, but nope.

I don't mind paid DLC if it's worth what their asking.

$15 for 4-5 maps is BS, and I love how EA tries to spin it off as "Expansion Packs": https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/browse/battlefield/expansion

I wonder if NFS will have "Expansion Packs" and when we complain they'll just say "We never said anything about not having Expansion Packs, we do that with all of our games!"

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but god damnit this is EA here.

Sweet!!! I wonder if they will take the same approach as GTA V dlc wise, you can either grind to buy the new car or buy a tuner card. (thats just the first name that came in my head)
