If Wendell said so, then yes I agree.

Edit: I like how Logan doesn't even mention EIZO at this point of the video http://www.eizoglobal.com/products/foris/fs2735/index.html ,good thing Asus gets all the hype again.

I think g-sync price premium is going to die. g-sync as a whole probably not.

well if x = percentage of NVIDIA GPU users than gsync is important for those x people, since x is higher than AMD GPUs I doubt it

Adaptive sync is not going to die, G sync? maybe..

There needs to be a more open standard, or at least something that can be used by at least AMD and Nvidia.

So either g sync will be able to be used by AMD too, or freesync (which I think is open? As in Nvidia is allowed to use it?) will be the thing.

If G-Sync doesn't get cheaper unlike Free Sync then it will die but if G-Sync can develop superior advantages over Free Sync (it is a separate chip after all) then I don't see it happening.

G-Sync should be something that didnt cost an additional 200$+ or more to get. Americans may think that their G-Sync module monitors are expensive, well.. The cheapest decent ones you can get around here is 500$+ and that is a AOC 24'' 144hz 1080p.. There are 4k monitors with G-Sync, but they're easily 600-800$.. Its retarded.

I don't think it's "dead," just niche. That premium doesn't exactly help widen its use though.

No G-Sync is not even close to being dead and is superior to Free-Sync in many ways. Who cares if intel supports free-sync now? I dont see how that matters at all. Free-Sync is too limited due to not having its own dedicated module like G-Sync. It has ghosting problems, as well as very specific refresh rate ranges. For example that Asus 144hz Free Sync monitor can only go up to 90hz.

Of course it's not Free-Sync has still issues with the adaptive-sync range and as long as Nvidia has the majority of market share G-Sync isn't going anywhere for quiet some time.

G-SYNC has been in the market for quite some time now and its not something that I see Nvidia ever scrapping or giving up on.

There is zero comparison between betamax and G-sync. G-sync is already very widely implemented technology. Nvidia is not losing any kind of money on G-Sync.

SLI as a price premium isn't dead yet so..... (though Nvidia's retarded chipsets are thank god).

what sli price premium? for mobos? it's not really a premium though. you wouldn't run cf on the cheapest mobo anyway

With older motherboards manufacturers had to buy Nvidia's chipset to get SLI certification-and they charged a premium for it. Some which allowed Crossfire at x8 with 2 x16 slots could however be made to accept SLI.

What ever happened to tek syndicate. I don't really watch the Tek, but they used to have a lot more videos... and staff for that matter.

Considering that Intel, AMD, and VESA have all embraced adaptive sync or "freesync" instead of G-sync, yes, G-sync is dead.

How is it exactly superior to freesync? I might have been misinterpreting the data from the LTT comparison but don't they perform so similar to the point where  the difference indistinguishable to us? The fixed rates are all between what people would consider never playing at to today's current maximum supported refresh rates, as well as above and beyond. Really doesn't matter. Sure gsync is literally better for that, but its so minuscule its barely even worth considering an actual positive. Especially since that seems to be on the manufacturers and not because of the technology itself.

vendor exclusive techs die as a rule of thumb....xps, apple display connector, etc

the only exemptions are stuff which affects workplaces like adobe pdf encryption/signing.

Adaptive Sync doesn't require any additional hardware, while G-Sync in its fullest form does. It can be made to work with AMD, Intel, and even NVIDIA GPUs(if NVIDIA allows it). G-Sync is exclusive to NVIDIA hardware - that may come with additional benefits like tighter control over hardware and software, but does have a fairly big premium over Adaptive Sync.
