Well, I had Sun Pre-Order, so picked the game up today.

 

Going to rock Rowlet.  Darn, I usually don't call a pokemon cute, but that darn owl is stinking cute.

It's pretty good so far. Much more dialogue-heavy than earlier games. Almost like it has... an actual story. They've also changed up the formula enough to keep it fresh yet familiar.

Final evolution is Water/Fairy, which gives it a huge type coverage (Fire, Ground, Rock, Dark, Dragon, Fighting) and some nice resistances (Fire, Ice, Water, Bug, Dark, Fighting + Dragon immunity).

 

Considering how many Dragon types there are now, that Dragon immunity is a huge bonus imo.

So far I am enjoying the game, I find it interesting there are no gyms but trails and the kahunas.  Kind of freshens up the flow.

 

Myself, I'm rocking the owl.  At my rate he soon to be lv50 and kicking butt all over the place.  :D

 

Rocking Decidueye, Wishiwashi, Mudsdale, Magneton, Salandit, and Hariyama.

 

Can't wait till I can catch one of those Alola versions of Vulpix.

I did like Litten when first shown, but that final evolution was a huge turn off.  :dry:

 

Would been more dope if they had gone with a sabertooth style final evo for Litten.

?  I usually don't pay attention to dex entries, but now I need to go back and look at salandit's entry.

 

Finally on the final island.  Now to beat the trail and nab that legendary poke.  Solgaleo better have some sweet moves.
