Experiences with non-techies

The Mac pro has not been Updated since 2013. But the price has not lowerde anyhow. So i tried to build an hackintosh with the same specs as the lowest spec 6 cor mac pro apple offers in germany. it costs 3400€. i built an machine with an i7 6800k, 16 gb of ram,  an 1000gb pcie m.2 ssd and an rx580 wich has 1.5 times the performance that the dual d500 gpus in the mac pro offer. So it has the same ammount of ram. 4 times the storage that is by the way faster than the mac pro`s, an 3.4 instead of an 3.5 ghz six core processor, that instead has an higher ipc and is overclockable, and more graphics horsepower for 1400€

That's hilarious. I've had the same issue with some friends of mine. It amazes me how people can forget the most basic steps like, you know, turning the thing on!

That's why at the start of my first programming class, the lecturer told us how to turn a PC on

Then proceeds to never come to class...........

They updated Ryzen with proper ECC support? I musta missed that :P

I've seen a some indications that it does if the MBs support it. ( https://community.amd.com/thread/210870#2784005 )

Now there was an answer from AMD in the Reddit AMA.

ECC works as long as the motherboard supports it, but it is not part of the official validation testsuite.

This isn't really an experienced with non-techies but i still thought i'd share it lol.

So i was searching "Bottleneck" on youtube to link Techquickies video about it in a thread.

Turns out there's some Redneck Rapper dude/crew that's called Bottleneck.

The thumbnail of their muiscvideo looked TOTALLY cringe so heck, i clicked on it.

smal musicians are always pretty nice, i watch quite a few guitar covers of metal songs for example, i drop a nice coment and then talk a bit to the artist. a bit of praise can probably make their day :D

I think this counts.

Friend has 4790k, and is looking at upgrading stuff.

Him: The CPU is not compatible with ddr4 RAM motherboards. The i7 4790k can only go in motherboards which support ddr3. What should I do?

Me: Use a Z97 board...

Him: There aren't any ddr4 Z97 boards? Do I need a new i7?

Me: Just use ddr3... Haswell refresh doesn't support ddr4

I thought it was one of those 'if net neutrality wasn't a thing this might become a reality'

I think my favorite experience dealing with a no techie has to be this kid in my class who would try to play games on a low end laptop like Crysis and stuff during class at school, unfortunately the laptop only had Intel on board graphics and a i3 for the cpu, anyway the kid proceeded to download Nvidia Drivers for the high end cards because he thought that they would improve the performance on the Laptop just because it said Nvidia GTX 980 Drivers.
